New Beeeeeeeee

Hi Guys.
I recently researched some Intrpeid info from forums like this before I chose my next car. SMRT eh!.
I purchased a 98 Es 3.2 liter. 70km for 9900. I think I did very well Car drives like new. I also own a heavily modded Grand Prix gt.
I do have some questions if anyone can asnwer them.
1, how does the alarm work.
2,does the cone filter sound good or great??
3, is it ok to use the Autostick or is it a way for you to wear out the tranny prematurly so that you will have to go back to chrysler and buy another one.
4,What the speed limieter set at..
5,how hard is it to replace the light that is over the rear pass shoulder over the window..
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site...

The cone filter is a definite upgrade in sound...I would say close to great.

The car is designed for autostick so I would say it is ok to use it...but I am sure if you really thrash with the autostick (rev it out...downshift to stop) it is not going to be great for the transmissions. A supposed weakness fo these cars is the trannies...though in reality not many people on here have had a lot of troubles as far as I the problems might be a little overblown.

Speed different on different intrepids but yours is likely 116mph (i think...I don't know much about limiters since my intrepid does not have one :p )

The light change should be more than simple.

Keith, welcome and congrats on the purchase. I hope your experience with the 3.2 ES is as good as mine. I have a 2000 3.2 ES with Autostick. What I can tell you is that my autostick has always been good to me. I have close to 133,000 miles on the car now and I shift that tranny all the time. My previous car was a manual, so I'm so used to downshifting to slow the car down and to prepare for exit speeds out of a turn. I must shift mine a million times a year, I swear. My tranny has held up perfectly and I have never had to get my brakes done (cause I use the tranny to slow the car down all the time). I believe speed limiter is 116 mph, and I've never had to change that light, nor do I have a cone filter.

Welcome again, and please do feel free to keep asking us questions.
