Save my trep!

Here's what happened. It got really, REALLY, cold yesterday in minnesota. my car didn't want to start. I hooked up the block heater for a long ass time until if finally kicked over when i gave it some gas. As soon as my foot comes off the gas, it dies. I can drive around the neighborhood as long as my foot is always giving the car a little juice. Unless there is a quick fix for this problem, I don't care to keep pouring money into this car (95 3.5L)

Oh yea, and the check engine light comes on.

Any advice would be cool

UPDATE

So I started my car this morning with no hassle, except it takes an extra second or two before the engine sounds ready to drive. I drove it twice today, the first time was fine, but tonight when I was driving, I was coasting with my foot off the gas and the engine killed. it started right back up again, but this is scary. I did replace all my injector rings recently, and didn't have a torque wrench for my intake manifold. If I under tightened the intake manifold, could it be to blame? I have also cleaned my IAC about 4-5 months ago. Could it possibly be dirty again? Should I get a replacement, or just clean it again?

Thanks for the help, you guys are the best resource around.

P.S. the check engine light doesn't come on any more, and I could use an oil change, its about 3000 miles since last one

Even on a carburated engine, a leaky intake could cause a rough idle ... with modern, metered fuel??? But I would also expect a whistle from under the hood ... have you listened for that?

UPDATE

So I cleaned my IAC. I tightened up my intake manifold a little. I disconnected my battery for about 15 minutes in hopes that it would reset any computer settings that were messed up. My car still seems sluggish. Is it unusual for my car to idle at less than 1000 rpms? Because its at about 900, maybe this symptom could be helpful in figuring out what is wrong. Thanks for the help guys!

900 is a normal idle for our cars. I had the same problem as you with the not starting and diying if not giving it gas, turns out, my fuel lines were frozen. I added some ISO Heet or whatever its called, and no more problems.
