Hit a deer tonight

My girlfriend hit a doe tonight, had our 10 month old daughter in the car. luckly no one was hurt. Girlfriend called me on her cell, she was only a mile from home, so I drove down there to check it out. Didn't do that much damage to the car, medium sized dent in the hood, should beable to pop that out. A hoofed sized hole in the bumper down at the bottom. Broke the pass corner light, and the pass headlight and mounting bracket. so I guess its time for some clear corners. Prob get them off of ebay

Where can I get some new headlights? are the headlights on ebay any good. I wanna do both so they won't look funny.

Should I buy a new mounting bracket, or just go to the junk, get a old one and pop out the inserts

Glad to hear that everyone is ok and that the Trep (I'm assuming it was the Trep that was damaged) is ok. I agree with both headlights being replaced. One of mine on my 2000 was damaged and when it was replaced, you can tell the difference in light output. Good luck with the repairs.

I bet if you put the venison in the Buy/Sell/Trade section you could offset the cost of replacement headlight(s).

Its a 96 es.
The deer was fairly small, it was still alive when I went looking for it, it might have weighed 100lbs then you take out the brusied meat, wouldn't be that much left of it

What about the housing??? New, or used

ebay headlights are good, i bought mine from a company that advertised on there

do you have collision insurance? usually they will cover animal strikes and not raise your rates cause it's an animal and theres no controlling it...

ya I got full coverage. i'm sure they would only replace the broken corner and head light, and I want both sets replaced so they won't look funny

anyone used the pops a dent thing seen on tv, the dent looks like a dent that would be used on

anyone else got ebay headlights. do I just need to silicone the lights and then I shouldn't have a problem with fogging

anyone bought from www.auto-lamps.com. looks like they want $37.55 each for the headlights, and $49 for the bracket. is there any reason not to buy a new bracket, and just get a used bracket and punch the inserts out and use a locking nutand ebay is $40 for the clear corners.

My neighbor used that on her Toyota Celica for a dent in the fender and it took most of it out but didn't take out the crese. so if it is cresed I wouldn't recomened it. But if it is not the go for it. I also tried it on my Camaro for a dent in the door and it took it all out. But it wasn't cresed.

Glad to see nobody got hurt. I like how you look at this as an opportunity to better your car, instead of a "stupid fucking doe, I hope they all die, I hope they all fucking die" attitude.

If it would have been an adult sized deer, I'm sure I would've had looked at it that way. The deer was actually a fawn(is that a baby deer). I got a better look at it the next day. So if it would have been an adult sized deer I'm sure the car would have been pretty bad.
