99 Concorde

Hello everyone! I know this is a Dodge Intrepid forum, but this is the closest thing I could find for my new car. I just bought a 1999 Chrysler Concorde LXi. It has the 3.2L engine, and I was told to stay away from the 2.7L for some reason, although I do like that motor in the stratus. But anyways, anybody know of anything that I should watch out for going wrong on this car? Is it a good motor and tranny? Thanks in advance for the help!

Welcome to the site, all LHs are welcome here, and we have a Concorde forum down below on the main forum page...the motor is good, the tranny is a weak point in all LH cars, just dont beat on it and it will be fine as long as you need it to

I almost bought a '00 LHS. Black, tint, moonroof, p/heated leather seats. LOADED for only $12,950 CDN.

I noticed it yesterday on a website. Today, it was sold.

Does anyone know anything that I can do like some kind of mods or something to help extend the life of the tranny? Oooo and also, does anyone know where I can find all the recalls that were for this vehicle so I can see what they are? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site! As far as recalls, the easiest thing to do is go to your local Chrysler dealer and have them run your VIN, that'll show any outstanding recalls and if they've been performed to your car. As far as extending tranny life, flush every 60k with nothing but pure MOPAR ATF+4 and don't beat on it.

If your car doesn't have an external tranny oil cooler then add one. Heat just kills these trannys. The advice about using +4 fluid and changing it is right on. You could also use Amsoil synthetic as I do in my 95 LHS and 92 Caravan 4 speeds. Just don't allow any Dexron fluid near your tranny and stay away from Fram engine oil filters. Just my $0.02.

In your owners book go with the B schedule change your tranny oil every 30,000 miles. Anit foam for the tranny and Joked air intake with a KN and a better perfomance muffler and bored TBI are the best mods.
