Omg Wtf Lol Lol Rotflmfao

yeah, so my 'trep is in a police impound lot...

i wish i could say its there because i did something badass...NO!!!

for some reason, the town of Brookline, MA says that i have recieved 9 parking tickets!!!!!

i use the '!!!!!' because i have RECEIVED 3 tickets...which were on my car...which i have PAID despite the fact that there are NO signs posted ANYWHERE for a parking restriction (all of the tickets were for parking between 12AM-7AM...) the only signs i saw near where i usually park say either "No Parking Here to Corner" or "No parking 7AM-7PM except holidays", well i wasnt parking from here to corner OR during the daytime....

whats worse is, the 3 of the 9 i got were paid off...the other 6 definitely took flight off of my car (they wedge them between the doors...i found one stuck in my trunk...it gets pretty windy in boston). if that POS gets blown off my car, and i dont get it...do i still have to pay for it!?

yeah, so they went out last night, towed my car away...
they dragged my front tires all the fucking way to watertown, MA nothing but tire scrapes all the way down this street and onto Harvard St. gee thanks, i JUST spent $1,400 on tie rods, bushings, sway bar links and control arms...oh, and tires. OH YEAH! and that shiny new 42LE i bought 7 months ago....
so its $45...times 6...plus $120 for tow, $50 impound fee, and $50+/- because i'm appearing in front of judge...(just to clairify...i didnt personally receive any of these 6 tickets. if i did, i wouldve paid em right away!)

hmmm, i bet the only difference between DOUBLING THE SPEED LIMIT while smoking a BLUNT... and PARKING ON A SIDE STREET is that you dont get points on your license for parking tickets...

you want some more revenue?! why dont you spend some of that money you're robbing people and install some signs along places which restrict parking during certain hours. Actually, if you're going to keep it like that, why dont you black out the crosswalks, then charge people $15 for jaywalking.

i wouldn't complain, if i received those 9 fair and square then HEY, i would pay those before they got late...well, i just renewed my license, which (according to their policy) if you have outstanding tickets, you can't renew. i got my license a few weeks ago, AND got temp tags for my buick...some of those tickets were from MONTHS ago, so do these exist!?

Don't tell me about Brookline MA... I used to drive home from class and cut through Brookline this is back in 98. So run it forward to 2002 and I am in my Intrepid driving down one of the roads I used to drive on in 98. It's raining and at night no signs warning that I could see when wham I hit this giant f*cking speed bump in the middle of a public road with a posted 30mph speed limit. It wasn't there a few years back and no sign...

You should have heard the crash and bang. That definitely did some damage to my car.

The worst part is that parking tickets are governed by the Parking Authority and not (usually) the police. Which means that rather than go to the police department to argue, you'll have to sit through hours of grievance at a city court waiting for them to call your name so you can argue it.

Happens in Philly all the time.

I thought they still put the boot on it a few days before towing it? Has that been changed recently?

They towed your car for a measly 9 tickets?????

Man, lucky Canada doesn't do that. I have $12000 in unpaid tickets right now(with no plans to pay em).

Took me 8 years to accumulate this. I'm going for the record in town here, still got another $6000 to go

brookline definitely doesn't.

according to the sgt. on duty, they (not him) target out of state vehicles for tow. pretty ridiculous.

i got it back tonight... $325 for the tickets (WHICH WERE TAXED!?), $115 for the 'tow'. i did get a courtesy ride to the impound lot...nice guy too.

Morphy, you're totally my hero.

axle, it'd be easy to find my other car if it got towed...I'd just follow the trail of leaking gasoline!

What state are you in? There was just an article in the Chicago Tribune about the same thing happening all over Chicago. In Illinois, if you don't renew your license plate after a certain period of time, they put the number back into the system to be assigned to someone else. So if you go buy a new car, and need a new plate, you run the risk of getting an "old" number that may still have tickets attached to it from the previous owner. I used to sell cars part time, and had a customer come back fuming because they got their car booted within a couple of days of buying it because of the "new" license plate that the state issued to them.
