Price of gas

Where i live I can still get gas for $1.64 at Sma's club and $1.66 at Wal-mart but the other stations are running $1.69 to $1.79.as a consumer we shouldn't have to put up with this crap. I read an article that said we should boycott all but a small handfull of staions and let Mobil/Exxon feel the pain.....maybe we could get some of these oil companies to come around!.......why are we still soo dependant on Opec's oil??......getting enough people together on something like this would be a small miracle!!

86.9 cents per litre ($3.28 Cdn per gallon). Suck shit.

At 16.5 mpg that my Trep is currently getting, my wallet is hurting rather badly.

Lightbulb

Here's an idea i got in an email the other day;

Robin Williams for President?

Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What
we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.
Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!) \

The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in the
affairs of other countries, past &present. You know, Hitler,
Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those 'good
ole boys.' We will never "interfere" again.

We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with
Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there anyway. We would station troops at our borders and allow no one to sneak through holes in the fence.

We will allow all illegal aliens 90 days to get their affairs together and leave this country and will give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. I'm sure France would welcome them.

All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90
days, unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist
nation would be allowed in If you don't like it there, change it
yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to
anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home, baby.

Energy wise, the US will make a strong effort to become
self-sufficient. This will include developing non-polluting
sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in
the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we
will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for
seeds, rain, cement, or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get little or nothing.

Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We
don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the
building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal
aliens.

All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

The Language we speak is ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE...

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor,
your tired, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and
she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'"

If you agree with the above forward it to your friends!!

Looks like Vancouver is the most expensive as far as North America goes!

Hey Avenger R/T, what's that car on your signature BTW?

It reminds me of a Ferrari F50 kit car designed for the Pontiac Firebird Formula. (which is a good idea IMO, atleast you've got some speed to back up the looks at 13.5 sec)

Just thought i'd inject some info... really America has has and still has some of the cheapest fuel in the world. At the moment in Australia regular unleaded will set you back nearly $1.00AU/ltr which is roughly $2.70US/Gallon. It's also incredibly expensive in the UK. I think what hurts here is that when your used to paying a certain price... and then over a course of months it goes up dramatically you think you're hard done by... but really it's still not ALL THAT expensive... when it gets to $3/Gallon i'll probably feel like most of you... cuz thats just what im used to paying back in Oz. And here in the bay area it ain't that far off... 2.49 is the highest i've seen here.

I'm torn between kinda being glad about the high prices because maybe that will force better, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly alternative fuel useage. I'm torn between that and being pissed off at the oil companies taken advantage of us, but I don't know if they really are so I guess I won't get pissed right now.

May I suggest something think for a second of how much gas is waisted from sitting at stop lights when there is now cars coming the opposite way. this happens all the time. now think of how much gas is being wasted times how many cars this is happening to. My dad just moved up here from MS and hes so pissed at just how many stop lights arent utilizing the senesore properly. I guess if you dont do this you wouldnt waste the gas and have to by more essentilaly paying more taxes and so on... In canada our goverentment says lets vote on something. if the public says no they say well we think its a good idea and does it anyway. but we accsept it and move on. we are being raped and dont even see it...

christ man you got it cheap!! 87 here is now 1.78, and that just came down from 1.82. 89, which is what my car only likes :( is 1.83 now and is going up. I put half tank in my car and took 18.00. This sucks, I dont even want a truck anymore, just cause of the gas prices, now its getting expensive to run the trep. Cant wait till this summer when i start the mods to my ar, and drive the S-10. That thing will be getting crappy gas milage for sure, but at least will be fun to drive.
