Please help..I don't normally ask things like this but..

(Yall in chicago may have already heard about this..WGN did a story on it, radio & tv, it made the paper..)
Being friends with many street racers & people who drive fast in their modified cars has somewhat given me and all of us a superiority complex over death. It also led us to believe we could die in what we did, but we didn't care right..we are living on the edge.
So it stuck us all here really hard Thursday nite 2 learn that my friend Mike(98 white honda civic, member of SFN racing, former GMCI & Team Revolution..WYT RICE.."White Rice"..just in case any of you know him or have seen his car) was in a serious car accident totalling his car. When I first found out I thought oh god what did he do now. But what I was really surprised to learn was that it wasn't Mike's fault. He was struck by a 17 yr old girl driving a 97 ford taurus with her 15 yr old little brother as her passenger, making a left turn without yielding..Mike was doing about 60 mph at the impact. All had been wearing their seatbelts, but the girl in the taurus has been in the ICU since, she is said 2 be in critical, but stable condition, but unfortunately, the same can't be said for her lil brother, a star freshmen athlete at a local high school..he was pronounced DOA at the hospital. Mike, fortunately, escaped with a broken collar bone, a bruised lung among other injuries. His girlfriend, Lindsey who was riding passenger was not so lucky. She had to be cut out of the car with the jaws of life & remains in serious condition..they induced her into a coma right away to keep her from moving Thursday nite. She has severe swelling around her brain & 2 main arteries blocked. She was going to be life flighted to a more advanced hospital but late last nite we recieved terrible news- she wasn't being transferred...and that she wasn't going to make it-if she did, she would have severe, permanent brain damage. This devastates everyone around here.. this has really been a wake up call to the team & really everyone that drives. Lindseys a beautiful girl, great friend, full of life..good person..just graduated..doesn't deserve to die..it's not fair. We all feel so helpless..it's really brought us all close together since..and the only thing we can think of to help her is to ask everyone for prayers...please..whatever you can..if you have a church prayer chain or youth group or whatever..she needs a miracle right now to live, and an even bigger one 2 come out with few complications. I don't normally ask stuff like this but this is the only thing we can turn to when medical science has failed..
I know it sounds stupid, but theres a message in all this.. you really CAN kill people driving. I'm not saying 2 do anything other than think of whos sitting next 2 you and who could be in that car you could hit. And another thing..tell everyone you know you love them..b/c you never know when the next instant could leave you unable to say that 2 them again.
Thanks so much..

There are several Christian members on this site, and I for one will honor your request for prayer for Lindsey. The one thing you have to accept IS that it is in God's hands and although we ask for a miracle we must accept that it is God's will and way, and not necessarily ours. I'm sure that others, as they see this thread, will join in prayer also. I will bring it before my church tomorrow as well.

Not to sound insensitive, just trying to comprehend, but what was the speed limit of the road your friend Mike was driving on?

Mixed feelings on that news, Banana. We did pray for God's will this morning, and also for family and friends.

You said Lindsey went with God. Is this something you know for sure? Not knowing what her spiritual state was is the reason for my mixed feelings. I will trust you are right and will keep the family and friends in my daily prayers...

bongobobny: not to sound like an asshole, but i don't think her spiritual state is any of our business......that "state" was between her & the 'ole man upstairs.....

Sorry to hear about that.....It sucks I know. My sister was killed in a car accident a couple of years ago at age 34 because some punk ran a stop sign (he got off scot free.....you see it's okay to kill someone with a car in this country but not with a gun) She left behind 2 children......
