Only six days after getting the Trep, someone tried to steal it by smashing the driver's side window and prying up the driver's side door handle, etc.
And today, after coming out from the gym, some bastard had tried once more. Passenger side's door handle was pried upward (probably with a screwdriver) and someone had been "looking" through the glove compartment and the rest of the cabin. CDs, insurance papers, receipts and other stuff was spread all over the interior. Only thing missing: A fucking one dollar bill from the console between the two front seats!
The first time it happened I "fixed" the handle by glueing it back in place, but this time it seems worse so I have to go to a bodyshop or something to that effect to repair it. Does anyone have any idea what they might charge to screw/glue/push it back in place? Labor? Or what about two completely new handles?
So this time we're gonna get a damn alarm on the thing, but that won't stop anyone from doing the same shit all over again - by the time the alarm goes off, they're practically running already. Not to mention that I have little or no time to see/catch whoever's doing it... Any recommendations on a decent alarm system that won't cost an arm and a leg?
Ok, fine. I do live in Newark, New Jersey, but seriously. It's a Dodge Intrepid, not anything fancy or expensive and yet I can't have it for myself.
In other bad news, today I found out that my own mom cashed my tax return and never told me about it and I know there's little chance of getting it back...
At least I still have the car and when it comes right down to it, that's all it is. A damn car.
But it sucks anyways.
End of rant.
Enjoy your weekend and your LH.
