0700 Club newbie

a club i would have rather not joined

Well im cruising last night at about 60mph music blaring and my eye catches the check engine light!!! Dammit and I was heading some where too! I flip a bitch and I cant get it out of 2nd going 40 at 3500rpm. i pull over add some tranny fluid (i didnt know what to do) checked my code 0700...and headed home, no shifting problems all the way. She's at the dealer right now and i told them about the input sensor or speed sensor (i searched the site)They said they checked that and think I need a...damn what was it called, a valve in the tranny..controlled by pressure? It's under warranty so they can do whatever they want but Im scared now that it's not just a sensor

I went to pick up my ride, the parts supposed to "be here in the morning" and Im not leaving my ride in the parts lot. He says it's an internal transmission module...pressure regulated. Failer of this parts could cause internal leakage which could cause the sensors to go bad...basically going straight to the source. Im hoping this works, I hate having new problems with brand new ride.

i've had the 0700 code for damn near a month now...i changed the input sensor, code came back...guess it's time for the 5* to check it out. i did notice some fluid on the tranny pan while i was lying under there...couldn't tell what kind it was, but i'm fearing the worse, tranny fluid level was fine though.

WOW....had it for a month now, have you been driving it....does it drive ok? Now im not to worried about driving it home from the dealer and back down there in the morning. Thats wierd you changed your sensor and still have the code...searching the site I found almost everyone that fixed the sensors fixed the problem. Maybe you'll need what im getting tomorrow.

it hasn't gone into limp mode yet. right before it downshifts to 1st, the car vibrates a lot. other then that, it drives fine. even chased down an old thunderbird lx on the highway, not even trying. it's still under warrenty so i'll just take it to the dealership...pay my $100 + tax deductable...and be done with it. i'm leaning towards a bad tcm...30 min. before the light came on the first time, i shifted from 1st to 3rd in like, 2 seconds (shifted into second, hit a pothole, shifted into third)

Your lucky you got it under warrenty. I wish I had that!

Just be a little careful sometimes these people think your entire TCM is dead when in reality its just a little sensor. Had that almost happen to me even at my dealer...thats why I don't let them do ANYTHING besides recalls to my car now.

Well...you woulnd't have one. In 2003 is was combined with the PCM to make one big computer. But the 99-01 had a TCM and thats what controlled your transmission and autostick.
