Help, how to wire a relay

OK well I am hooking up computer fans for my amp enclosure thats going in my trunk. I will be wiring them to come on with the HU just like the amp so that if the amp is ever on so are the fans. I read that if you run more than half an amp from there you could toast you HU and it even specifically said no fans, use a relay. So I have several extra automotive relays that I have grabbed to have as spares if one goes bad in my car. I have a general understanding of how a relay works, but I'm not exactly sure how to wire it up. I know that my 12V from the radio has to go to one of the prongs in the relay, one of them has to be where it is actually going to get the power from, one has to be the power going from the relay to the source. I'm also assuming that one is for the ground for the 12V from the radio. There are 5 pins so what am I missing?

My car won't ever be done because I'm insane. That is all.

Alright thanks guys, thats a lot better than trial and error haha. One thing though, you have the actual power source coming in and when the low power source is off, it goes to the one connection and when the low power source is on, it goes to the other connection. So obviously the connection when its on is going to go to power whatever you want to power. The other one is just wired to ground from what I read, so I'm assuming that by wiring it to ground like that isn't going to just complete a direct circuit from 12V to ground (very bad)?

Remote wire to 86.
Ground to 85.
Constant power to 30.
Fan to 87.

87a is what gets power (connected to 30) when 86 has no voltage. Just cover 87a with an insulated female disconnect, with no wire crimped on. Don't hook 87a to anything.

You can also get relays without 87a. 4 pin relays.

Thanks hypnos, since I already have the five pin relays I will just cover 87a up like you said. Once again, you are the man.

EDIT: Haha it won't let me give you reputation, it told me to spread it around first.
