Sad I need parts...

Well, this Wednesday it finally happened. I rear-ended a car on an off-ramp and now I need a new hood, a new right headlight and a radiator support.

The car in front of the car I hit stopped very suddenly, the car behind him had to floor his breaks and then I, although breaking all I could and trying to stear out of the way, hit his bumper. It cracked a little and was hanging loose. Not to mention it was a '98 Civic with the usual set-up... Should have hit the gas, not the breakes...

Anyways, I found a new hood for around $200 online, a new headlight for $214 (damn, for just a light???) and the radiator support for around $55 or something. Are those good prices? I went to three junkyards yesterday, but none had the parts I needed. Two 2 gen Intrepids but both had damaged fronts.

So now I'm thinking I'll probably buy everything new unless I find something used by this coming Saturday.

Oh yeah, and it'll be $800 to repair the body and install the new parts.

My yard sells headlights for a little more than half that, but the hood and rad suppirt prices aren't bad at all.

I got new headlights for like 50 bux a piece, give or take. Not sure where they came from. I bought my car from a salvage dealer. All it needed was a hood, headlights/mounting brackets, and the bumper cover painted. The guy who sold me the car also sold me the headlights, so i dunno if thats how much they cost or if he gave them to me for his cost. i also dont know if this place he got them from only sells to businesses. They are out of cleveland ohio, ill try to find out for you...i would jam tinfoil and a candle into its place b4 i dished out 200 for a headlight!

Thanks for the responses.

LOUD98ES, so if I can't find it elsewhere could I buy both a right and a left from you and have it in time for Saturday when I'm gonna give the car to the body shop? I'm looking for two because my left light is very dim (plastic crap) and it'll look stupid with one bright and one dim.

LHChris, I'd appreciate that. It'd be great to get a deal one some used lights, since everybody can agree that $200+ for one is very expensive.

Ok. This is the hood I'm thinking of getting. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the top and the bottom one?

http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cpw...model=INTREPID

How about this for a headlight?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34207

Or this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710 Will an 03/04 fit though? I'm guessing yet, but...

This one is cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

The problem is that I can't really wait until I maybe win an auction. I need the items in my house by Saturday morning, so it'd be a lot better someone knew of a right headlight (and possible a left if not expensive) that I could basically make a deal on right now and have shipped to me.

Loud98ES, can you possibly hook me up with one here? You say your yard sells them for a little more than half the price I mentioned... Does that mean I could maybe get two for like $250 or something?

If I get a thumbs up on the hood, I'll get it. But I just found out that the radiator support that's listed on the same site as the hood is only the lower part. I only need the top part, not the entire thing.

Damn it, all the places online only have the lower part of the radiator support. I just need the top part that goes from the left side to the right side of the engine bay between the engine and the bumper. Any idea where I can find it?

Now I don't even know if it's called the radiator support. The mechanic and body shop guy said so but the parts I find when I search for that don't look like the top part that's bent and out of place.

And the hood may be around $200... but they charge $120 to ship and it'll take seven business days so that's pretty much a dead duck.

I really didn't want to go to a dealer, but now it's looking more and more like it.
Where's that Jeff from Mopar when you need him?

Ok, so I'm getting a new right headlight assembly for $199 shipped.
Later on I'll look for a new/used one to match up with that, when I have more time. If I don't get the car to the body shop with the parts by Saturday, they can't help me until the new year. I'm let me just tell you how much it sucks driving on the highway with only one extremely dim headlight.

Does anyone have any idea what that radiator part is called exactly? Is it the radiator support or something else?
