Question Windshield Tint

I want to get my winshield lightly tinted so light will nto shine in so directly, but I can still have a chance of seeing at night.

Anyways -

Is there a good brand of tint that I should look for?

I want like 50% probably. I already have the rear 3 at 5% and the front 2 like 6%-7%, and a rather large 5% strip across the windshield. The place that I get it done at does not have exactly what I am looking for so I fingure I'll check eBay or somthing.

be careful with the windshield. its sensitive. ive heard of people windshields shattering in some places. and if you have to take it off that would suck even more

More importantly is the local law. Most states won't allow tint on the windshield below a certain point without a doctor's prescription. And they tend to enforce this much more than the percentage on the rest of the windows.

Seeing that your from Iowa, I know it's illegal there...

well THAT answered his question... :P just pokin ya dont' get offended...

DB's right tho man.. very rarely will the locals allow windshield tint.. and there's no brand really... just have a shop do it if you've got your heart set on it... that way they can take care of the bubbles and whatnot... workin bubbles outta our HUGE windshield doesn't sound like any fun at all... but hey.. you'll do it.. get pulled over about 9 times and wish you hadn't so it'll be an adventure

I would care less about the tint law - they searched my car when it didnt have any (just the back windows) so I figured that I would make the front dark too. Now I want the windshield just a touch darker. I just wondered if there was a good brand of film or somthing, and then I would have the shop put it on, heh, not me.

3M makes great tint film. Best to get if from shop if they are installing it. Buy film if DIY.

35% is pretty dark at night too. it sucks that they don't have it in 50%.
what i would do is tint all your windows @ 2.5% and get a vinyl sunstrip for the windshield. about a 12". the thing with your tint strip on the front is that light is still coming in the car. get vinyl, no light will come through. i have a 12'' strip on mine.
my friends tell me when they pass by me while driving(in the day time) all they can see is a hand waving. it looks like "thing" on the Adams family they say. just a hand on the dash board. lol

car was serched ? mine was raided. they told me if i had any dope to tell them. im like no dope. all in all they never opened my trunk but my back seats were flipped upside down. i didnt have them bolted in at the time and they bwent through every crack and creves took my dash apart. but when they found no traces of crack they quit. i hate undercover.

but as for your windshield theres no big sheet you can buy like a 4 foot by 5 foot area. cut it yo fit the window then install ?
