brake light.....

hey guys. Ok so im driving along and put on my brakes the front end drops normally and the then my brake light comes on.. it goes once I have released my foot from the pedal... I have not checked my fluid.. is that the reight direction.. or should I look somewhere else.

fluid is the first thing to check, it may be low.

Next step is to determine why it is low. Cars don't normally consume brake fluid, you may have a leak, or it might be time for a brake job.

Bingo! That would be my guess also. Like the man said, it will probably be low but only because you may need a brake job. Wife complained of the same problem on her Stratus this past summer when going on and off the highway ramps and coming to stops. Brake fluid was really low, but after taking it for a drive I could tell the pedal was funny. Pulled a wheel and caliper off and boy was that caliper out far. The pads wore so even that they didn't grind, but there wasn't much left of them. The fluid was all in the caliper, making up for all of the space that used to be padding on the brakes. Pushed those puppies in, machined the rotors, replaced the pads and the wife hasn't talked to me about brakes or brake lights since then.
