How do I connect a negative wire?

So..i installed my neons..got them all wired up..and then the directions say.."connect black wire to the negative terminal of the battery"..well how the hell do i get to it without unhooking the battery and taking my wheel off?..any way possible?..I tried hooking it up to the negative jumpstart location..and i dont think it worked..so any ideas?

ok i wouldnt hook it to ur battery, unless u want to blow ur neons. i assume ur hooking up one neon tube, what u want to do is hook it up to like ur cig lighter wire or ur cd wire. (i pm'd u on AIM to tell u more)

Are you talking about your underbody kit? or Neons inside of the car?

if you are talkin interior lighting like mine..well mine are cathodes but basically the same thing...anyway if you are talkin interior lights dont hook them up to your negative cd wire nor, your negative battery cable...just ground that baby out to some bare metal and you are good to go...if its underbody lights though i think you are...again i THINK...you are supposed to wire them to the negative battery cable but i think you are supposed to do something different than just tap into it.

mine interior is hooked up to the positive wire of the CD Player, which is the red wire, and the negative is hooked up to a ground (bare metal), which I have my music interface hooked up like that, then the neons hooked up to that and so on. Hard to explain, but yeah.

so when i turn my car on the neons will not turn on unless the cd player is on, (plus i added a toggle switch, so i can choose when to have the neons on)

the only reason i wouldnt do that because if you fry you your neons somehow then your radio is at risk and vice versa...but im no expert.

My LEDs are grounded to the bare metal under my hood. I have not have any problems and have been running them like this for months. I did not ever light them up during the meet huh? Did you get the ones we looked at in the Auto store that Saturday?

Have you seen his Corde? I think it is going to look great on the car.

Still should be able to ground to the undercarriage or under the hood but remember needs to be ground against pure metal not a painted location (unless you scrap the paint away).

Not gonna happen. And a ground can be found at pretty much any structural pice of metal in the car. The entire body is connected to the negative battery post...

Yep - as long as you make good contact to clean metal you should be OK. The chassis is the lowest resistance path back to the negative terminal on the battery. Running a wire would have higher resistance unles you used huge wires...
