POSI TRAC. IT's all good. We can't be Intrepid or Corde owners the rest of our lives. If i move away from dodge, it will be to go to pontiac. After having a 90 tempo and a 90 tbird both with bad wiring and electrical. I'm staying away from ford for a while.

What engine sizes do Grand Am's have ? the GT expecially. and does a Grand Prix gtp have a bigger engine or just more supped up

Hmmm, and both times I rented a Pontiac (Gran Prix) I didn't like them! Just proves that everybody is different. Best of luck and remember, just because you don't own a mopar any more does not mean you can't still keep posting here. Lots of members here are "former" owners...

"bit the dust" - do you mean it died, or you just traded it in?

Last I checked, GTP's had supercharged 3.8L V6's.

Just confirmed: http://www.modernracer.com/pontiacgrandprixgtp2004.html

Engine : V6, supercharged, OHV, front engine FWD
Displacement : 3,791 cc
Valve : 12 valves, 2 valves per cylinder
Transmission : 4-spd automatic
Fuel economy : city - 18 mpg
highway - 28 mpg

Horsepower : 260 hp @ 5200 rpm
Torque : 280 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm
Redline : 6000 rpm

Top speed : 138 mph(electronically limited)
0-60 mph : 6.6 sec.
0- mile : 15.0 sec @ 93.0 mph
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.81 g

They're a tad quicker than our cars, but they also cost that much more.

Did the interior get any better? I know the last time I was in a Pontiac.. or any GM product, the interior was so cheap I almost puked.

What happened to the 'Corde?

well when i say the corde died it didnt't die literly but it was on its last lap. it started to have electrical problems. it had a new starter plugs and wires a new battery. but at times it would just be comletly dead i couldnt even get eh dash to light but then 10 min later it would start just fine. sometimes it would idle funny. or i would get my abs and trac lights staying on no matter what. the car was just about to turn 75,000 miles on a 98. i knew it was gunna need to rear brakes and rotors. plus with the way i drove it i didnt give the trans much longer. 18 year old with a lead food bad combo. so just with the problems it had it wasnt reliabe or save to drive sometimes i had to get rid of it while i could still get some money for it. plus i knew it was going to have some very costly upcoming problems which i wasnt prepaired to pay for. i managed to get 3500 for it on a trade in which wasnt bad. so thats what happend to it. and for all who was asking the grand ams have a 2.4 in the se version and a 3.4 in the gts which is what i bought. the grand prixs have a 3.8 v6 ir a supercharged 3.8 on the gtps. either way im happy with my car its got some balls for such a little car. any other qustions just leave me a messege

later

I agree...exterior new gen grand ams are really nice...specially the GT, but the interior looks cheaper than a 2$ ho. I drove a GT and wasn't impressed at all. Grand prix gtp supercharged is a pretty gorgeous car, but i found the interior looked like it was set for an old man going through a mid-life crisis. Gas guzzler too....but overall not bad.
I'm not impressed with GMs at all...my cousin has a "nice looking" olds Alero GLS, but we'll see how long that lasts....

I looked at the GTP when I was shopping for my last new car, which turned out to be the trep I'm driving now. I loved the supercharged 3.8, but the interior was so plastic looking I couldn't stand it. The trep also has much more interior room and trunk space, and the overall styling is better IMNSHO.
