Found a good price on Mobile 1

Where do you post when you find a good deal on something?

I was at Target today and found Mobil 1 for $3.39 a quart. It looked like that is that stores normal price, not on sale. So instead of the $20 five quart-er from Walmart it only cost me $16.95. 3 bucks is 3 bucks

So if you have a Target around, check them out next oil change

Here is their store locator

Well unless they mark up their stuff up to $7 a quart that's got me beat. I'll stop by there today and stock up on some calendars:icon_cool

I've seen Mobil has three new oils out:
Mobil Clean 5000 - not syn or semi-syn
Mobile Clean 7500 - semi-syn
Mobil 1 Extended Performance - (15,000mi) full syn

Yep the extended stuff is like $3 or $4 more for a 5 quart jug than the regular synthetic at Walmart here.

Here's a quote from Mobil's FAQ :
What is the difference between Mobil 1 Extended Performance and the currently available Mobil 1?

Mobil 1 Extended Performance formulas are designed specifically for today's longer service intervals and are guaranteed to protect for up to 15,000 miles or one year.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance has a unique formulation with boosted level of protection and performance. These formulations with the Advanced SuperSyn System contain 50 percent more SuperSyn, 36 percent more anti-wear additives, and 37 percent more cleaning agents than the current Mobil 1.

The Walmart down here lowered the 5qt jug price of regular Mobil 1 to I believe $17 and the new Extended Performance stuff is about $21...

I stopped by the local Pep Boys and they still have calendars for a buck. And they have the buy 3 get 3 free coupon just like you guys said. Coupons are good till December '05. Pep Boys was selling reg Mobile syn $4.99. (I think I saw the new extended stuff for $5.23). The coupon just says Mobile 1 synthetic so I guess I could use it for the new extended stuff.

Lets see the price comparison for the regular Mobile synthetic
Local Target = $3.39 a quart (quart bottles)
Local Walmart = $4 a quart (5qt jug for $20)
Local Pep Boys w/coupon = $2.66 a quart (6 qts: [email protected] $5/qt + $1calendar, 3 free qts)

Pep Boys has my business. Thanks guys
