Front bumper

As some of you know, my wife messed up my car a few weeks ago. The hood & drivers headlight are toast. The front bumper is a little out of shape on the drivers side with a small "dent". It also has a "wave" near the headlight.

The body shop says they can fix that with some heat.

My question is; has anyone had an experience with this? will the body shop be able to reshape the "rubber" fascia/bumper to look like new?

I am sending the car to the shop in the spring, so I still have time to find a hood in good shape. The car is drivable but looks like hell.

it really depends on how bad the damage is if they are good and know what they are doing its possible, but the money you are going to spend to have it fixed could probally buy a good used bumper skin with no problems check out ebay ive seen them on there for really cheap

The bodyshop should be able to fix it. Last winter I damaged my front bumper and there was a small piece missing. My bodyshop fixed it and you couldn't tell that it had happened, even by looking on the inside of the bumper before installing it. It cost me 300$ canadian and my bumper looked like new again
I could have went to another bodyshop and get the same job for probably cheaper but I would have got a cheaper job......you get what you pay for as they say.

We have a body shop do all our bumpers on the police cars, they keep backing into things. Cant tell where it was when they do it with the heat gun as long as its not cracked.

No, there are no cracks, just a slight "dent" or warpage. So I guess it is possible to fix it. I was a bit worried because I have never seen anything like that fixed before. I know that with the metal parts you can bang out dents & bondo etc. I wasn't sure how the rubber parts were worked on.
