Hey guys, Im moving to Winnipeg and I need to install a block heater and blanket on my car. Where is the best place to get them, how much should I expect to pay and is the block heater a pain to install? Ive seen they go in one of the freeze plugs, but are there other styles other then the freeze plug ones that work good too?
too bad yours isn't a Canadian market intrepid.... they come with the block heater and battery blanket. Obviously stay away from the dealer.... try somewhere like a Canadian Tire, or the like.....
actually this winter across Canada has been very mild.
The stock block heater on these fits into a mounting hole next to the crankshaft sensor, on the engine side of the bellhousing. These are very easy to install, and I would recommend buying a new battery blanket and block heater for safety reasons. There may be aftermarket available, but most of those fit in a freeze plug, or radiator hose, and it would be worth the time and money to get the factory ones from chrysler.
