1999 vs newer

i have a 1999 dodge intrepid and my mom has a 2002 intrepid. look the same but when i drive hers, her intrepid rides smoother and less road noise . whats the diffrents beside the yr.

maybe its just the struts, shocks that make it feel better. Plus im sure the rubber seals on the doors and such have worn over time on the 99. Otherwise they should be the same.

You have quite the trep collection HEHE....

It could be just as simple as different tires. Those of us who's changed from one brand to another, or even just brand new vs old worn tires can definitely feel and hear the difference.

3 years less abuse. How was yours taken care of? Who owned her's before she bought it? Who owned yours? How many miles does her's have, how many does yours have? All these things factor in.

Yea, the tire selection makes a huge difference in road noise - especially on an Intrepid.

It's the tire compound. A tire with a longer treadwear will have a harder compound where as a performance tire will have a softer one. Of course the tread pattern itself will have an effect.

also have read in two different auto publications- the glass in your mom's is thicker- also the insulation is better.
