clear coat is over the paint. not mixed in. i dont think LOLOL
last yr i got my car repainted. $3000. he told me that it has to get sanded down and then a prime then paint then a clear coat on top. so im assuming its over the last coat of paint it puts on the car.

Yeah, clearcoat is always on top. If it was part of the paint, it wouldn't be clear.

DC boasts a 7 step process... but in the end it basically winds down to prime, base, clear.

They'd only be mixed together if you had a cheapo repaint from Earl Scheib or Maaco.

Make sure you get a painter who is good at matching and blending.

Amen to that and gold is a very hard color to match,, as much as i hate to say it,, for a while i was a painter at a maaco in fl,did 20 cars a day, sucky job, but golds and greens seemed to be the worst ,,, save your money and get a quality job, your car is too nice to go the cheap route
