Well, if you really want to know. We traded in my wife's sebring last January and got her a 2006 Ion 2 manual. I love driving it and miss driving stick daily. Its tough finding stick shifts around here. Besides, I don't really need a bigger car for a daily driver, and it'd be nice to average 30 MPG instead of 23-24 like I am now. Anyway I found this:
2005 Chevrolet COBALT $10,888.00 VIN: 1G1AK52F357582132
Stock #: 582132
Exterior Color: Black
Interior Color: Gray
5 Speed Manual, Fuel Injected, 4 Cyl., 2.2, 4 Dr Sedan
Claycomb Auto Sales
4795 Route 233
Westmoreland, NY 13490
Its a close cousin to an Ion. The mileage is low and the price is also. It books about $1500 ish higher on KBB. I did some comparisons between his prices and KBB values and everything I tried was under book. On his front page it mentions a 5yr/100K warranty included. I wonder if its included in that price, which puts it ever farther under book value since you can easily spend $1500 on a warranty.
My trep has been virtually trouble-free. The oil light flicker, no biggie. New pads and rotors all 4 corners I did last summer, new tires, slight seepage at the pan, an idler pulley (and probably the other one soon), new belts, and now a burned out dash bulb. So its been a dam good car, but I'm running up the mileage in a hurry. I bought it in May 2004 with 48K and its Jan 07 where I'm closing in on 93K. Besides that, I'm like $2700 upside down on it if I trade it. At least if I see a deal like this where its under book, I might catch up with that negative equity sooner than the remaining 2 1/2 years on the current loan.
I don't want anyone thinking I'm selling out but if I find a good deal, I'm making a deal. No matter what though, I'm sticking around here. I wouldn't have anything better to do at work if it weren't for this site!
