you think headgasket,? the guy said it just started over heating last week so he put a new thermostat in it and it still over heats so i'm betting he filled it from the reservoir and not the top of the radiator.

Could be just air, or a small leak in the system, and/or pluged Rad. Or the pump could be going again. (That's if he used a cheap one, you never know) As for the lights, I'd look at the Headlight Delay Relay first, then move to the Multi-Switch. Congrat's on the Trep though !!!

Lol, I guess your right. What I really, was trying to say, start with the simple stuff like traped air then go up from there.

Cool, good price. Thats a good deal even if you end up replacing the engine.

Yep, I have to agree with you.

Is this car for you or for your women? haha. I wanted to get another trep since my girl had no car when we started dating and when we moved in together she kinda took over the trep :( I got a good deal on my truck so I will rid with that for a while.

More likely the thermostat is in backwards if it was working fine before it was messed with.........

Cheers

ooppss.....
missed this post. I retract the backwards thermostat theory.

Do a leak down test on the motor to see if it's a head gasket. Or a more simple test, pump a little compressed air into each cylinder (use a spark plug adapter) and watch the rad for bubbles (you have to wait a minute or so in each cylinder). Make sure the cylinder is at TDC so the valves are closed and stay clear of moving parts as the engine may rotate if you put too much pressure in the cylinder. No bubbles, head gasket no leak!
A weak rad cap can also cause overheating problems. The cap holds the rad fluid under pressure (usually 15 psi) which helps prevent boiling. A simple rad pressure test can illuminate alot of potential problems.

Good luck!

Cheers

BJ
