What does the LH mean?

I've seen these cars described as "LH" types of autos....but what does that mean exactly?....and what if anything does LH stand for?
....perhaps this is an obvious question, but I can't seem to get around it :-)

The LH really is just a descriptive for the platform. Just like many other manufacturers use a letter to designate a particular platform or style like the jeep "J" the Ford "F" etc. etc. So it really doesn't mean anything.

Wikipedia says that there was a rumor in the 90's that said that the LH stood for Last Hope, since Chysler was having financial troubles and they allowed their engineers a little more freedom to be more innovative.

I personally think that in this crowd, myself included....LH stands for "Large Hombre".....you guys have been to the meets,......you know what I mean ;)

I like the "Large Hombre" point, I don't know too many "averave" sized folks that run these as a religion. I'm a 6'4" and 275 pound ex-wrestling, ex-Army moto-crossing freak of nature, I would be lost if it weren't for the full sized DCX stuff.

Yep, there are a few of us "big boys" who need "big toys", lol. Some tall, some, er rounder.
Hey I'm dieting, though. I might even be able to (comfortably) fit my ass in the FRONT seats some day, lol...

What does LHS Stand for......

Well,

This is coming right from the horses mouth. I worked at the Brampton assembly plant between 97-98 and during my training and orientation, one of the first things they taught us is what LHS Series stood for.... "Last Hope Series" Aparently, Chrysler in the 80's was about to bite the big one when they introduced the K series. K car, K wagon, Daytona ... yadda yadda. and funny enough, that K car actually brought them out of the whole. Then again in the 90's when they were struggling again, they introduced the Cab Forward Design. And yet again, people were all over it. And shortly there after they introduced the "Last Hope Series" which is what we know as LH or LHS Series.

I don't make this stuff up, this is right from my old training manual.

thanks

Well thanks for all the info TrepDave and all the rest of you folks too!
The only thing that worries me now, is that I'm just a little guy!....and I don't know how I ended up with a trep except that I've always thought that the styling of the second gen. was really nice, and I've heard that they're pretty decent cars so I bought one awhile ago as a second car.....I figured too, that since they're so popular, there are lots of used parts available...
