Crashed car - to sell, trade or donate

All, I need some advice. This morning I slid off the road in my 99 Intrepid and found a guard rail with the hood, bumper and quarter panel. I'm estimating about $3000 worth of damage, which happens to be what I paid for the car. Unfortunately I have liability only on that vehicle. Any ideas what to do with it? Doesn't seem worth spending 3k on repairs. Will junk yards give a fair price? Can you trade in a wrecked car at a dealership and get a fair price? Is the best option to donate it? I'm pretty sure it's beyond my ability to repair myself. I just need some suggestions...maybe things I've not thought of or anyone with experience on any of the things I have mentioned. Please chime in. Thanks!

Part out as much as you can, then see what the yards will give you.
If you get a better tax receipt by donating it, go that route :p

Why don't you get an estimate so you can have a good starting point. Junk yards are in the business to make money. You will not even get close to what you want for the car going that way. I believe you will be better off just selling parts off of it. Just my opinion.

if it still runs, it would be cheaper than 3k to fix up.

THose parts are under 1000$ (hood, bumper, quarter panel) if you do it yourself given that it still runs properly (axles, engine).

I dont know about that, I got hit at the rear quarter panal and that cost me 5k. As the body shop takes the pices apart they find other problems.

It does run great...even now. I'm not sure how much I'm up for parting it out. I don't have the setup to remove most of the parts that i'd get big dollars for (ie engine).

I'll take a few tomorrow and post them. Basically the bumper pushed slightly back and popped out on the passenger side wheel well, the hood pushed slightly back and bowed up, the quarter panel buckled slighly and the passenger headlight is destroyed. Look for pics tomorrow.
