new muffler and fogs

98 3.2.. i cut the old muffler and resonator out. added 2.5 inch pipe to where the old resonator was, added a flowmaster 40 series, and then put the stock oval tip back on, but extended it out about an inch or an inch and a half. it sounds really good. its not very loud at all while your in the cabin with the windows up, or even with them down for that matter. i guess because your so far away from the end of the tailpipe. but it doesnt sound rice whatsoever, and sounds super sweet upon start up. i dont have a way to get sound on here...

oh and also finally got a k & n filter, installed that bad boy.
got some sylvania super white fogs, installing them after dinner. i bought cool blue headlights and was pissed when i found out they arent blue at all, so i got these whites to see how the color is, and if i like it i wll get the premiums with "25 percent more lighting power" for the head lights

A nice OEM set of HID bulbs and balasts would fix the light color and brightness for you...

HIDs only if you do a proper retrofit. I do have an account on HIDPlanet, I haven't been there in a while and I don't even think I ever posted, but I was thinking of going HID for a while and they do have some good info on PROPER retrofits. If I see you with a conversion kit that blinds me, you better hope I don't see your car in a parking lot or you might notice a new scratch... ;) (Okay, probably not, but damn do I wish those kit users would get tickets more than once in a great while) (As a side note, I'm a member of LS1Tech, and they delete my posts when I mention that the kits are illegal and blinding :( sponsors there sell them)

But I trust you guys are responsible, people who recommend 4300k HIDs tend to be on the educated side

Anyway, IMO, bad idea on dumping the resonator. It hardly restricts flow, limits drone on the highway, and makes the sound deeper and even better. You can use a Dynomax magnapack/bullet for a resonator and pay $30 or less. Worth it if you ask me. 'course I'm not you, and as long as you like the sound and it doesn't wake me up when you drive by my house at 3AM, then you're good.

so adding yet another muffler will make it lower? hard to imagine it being any lower than it is now. also, its not very loud. and why would i want to limit flow? i dont get why you say it hardly limits flow. do you mean a resonator hardly limits flow? and on the highway, which i drive on about once a month, you can barely hear the exhaust.

Everything I mentioned is straight-through. I did a Magnaflow resonator and muffler on my 3.1L Grand Am, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

its like a 3 on a 1-10 scale of loudness.

IF this makes the car faster, more powerful and/or improves the mileage then it was worthwhile.

It's not louder, you just think it is.
