Nice and clean under the hood. And it has working good Lift Supports unlike the 2nd gens with those fricking Prop Rods! Still uses R134a refrigerant too! And the classic 5.7L Hemi plastic engine cover found on so many Chrysler/Dodge models.

Looks like the battery is hidden somewhere most likely in the cabin. It's not in the back in the under floor storage compartment. Checked to make sure it had the factory jack tool kit and the Alpine Subwoofer is under there also. Possibly under the drivers seat like later models. Need to check that.

Owners manual says battery is under the front Passenger Seat. Online Tutorials indicate it's pretty easy to access unlike LH cars! LOL!

Downside is it'll probably be a $200 battery to replace due to the venting design and most likely AGM.

Thanks! I'm going to be thinning the herd down to one Durango in the next couple of weeks.

Even has a power Tilt/Telescoping Steering Column! None of that pulling manual levers crap...just push a switch! Along with Memory Seats/Mirrors/Radio.

Need to input Dan's address into the RHR NAV unit for the meet in August.

Pictures of the interior make the leather look like it's Light Taupe like my 300m Special but it's "Buckskin" tan color. The camera color settings must've been thrown off by the bright sunlight. Looks like this in reality:

Complete with the "Citadel" imprint in the seat backs.

Miss the running boards I have on both 2nd gens. makes it easier to get into and out of. Might look into some chrome "Nerf" bars or even black OEM running boards.

Hmmmm......OEM Mopar Side Step Bars. About $550 from discounted online dealers! Yowza! Same price for Black or Chrome.

What's the consensus Black or Chrome?

Need to look at the truck tomorrow. Front/Rear lower fascias are black. Can't tell from my pictures about the side skirts. If the side skirts are dark colored maybe black. If the skirts are silver or chrome...I'd lean towards chrome bars.

Side shot of the Citadel. Chrome trim just below the doors and black side skirts. I'm leaning towards all black bars.

These are some possibilities that won't break the bank. Around $200 with mount kits.

Maiden long distance trip in Durango III today XNA Airport in the Nortwest Corner of AR>

Impressive numbers for the Durango III regarding MPG today. 420 miles round trip. 70-75 mph for about 99% of the trip. Around 60 miles of steep hill sections and averaged 23.1 mpg! Window sticker claims 20 mpg highway. Not bad for full time AWD also.

Got another 3 month SiriusXM subscription trial in this Durango also. Came in handy on the long 420 mile trip to XNA airport yesterday!

Pulled the giaganormous round blind spot mirrors of the door rear view mirrors. That foam adhesive sucks donkey balls!! Need to see if the remainder with come off with alcohol or I need to break out the Goo Gone!

The new blind spot mirrors are smaller and I've got them mounted in the upper outside corners of the mirrors. Much better field of view than the round ones. Must've been a "Senior Citizen" that owned it previously. At least more :"Senior" than me!!

Pretty much like this....

Here are the mirrors with the New Blind Spots installed. Mo Betta!

Got all the old adhesive off the driver side mirror and most on the passenger with 90% isopropyl alcohol and a bunch of elbow grease! Need to hit the passenger mirror with some Goo Gone to get some of the stubborn **** off.

Loving the Push Button Start/Stop and Passive Entry on this Bad Boi ! As long as I have the Fob in my pocket....I'm good to go!

The more I drive it...the more I realize a should've bought a 3rd gen to begin with!

Ordered up a pair of these from Amazon. $219 shipped. I really didn't want to spend $500+ on running boards. That seems to be the going rate for running boards of this type. These include the mounting brackets and are supposed to be good for 300 lbs. 5.5" wide extruded Aluminum and not plastic like the 2nd gen running boards. Most likely there's some fatal flaw due to the low price and I'll end up having to buy more expensive ones!! Worst case will be to return them and pony up the extra $$$ for something better.

TAC Running Boards Fit 2011-2019 Dodge Durango (Excl. R/T Model) SUV Aluminum Black Side Steps Nerf Bars Step Rails Running Boards.

I think the polished edge will compliment the trim strip that's already on the side skirts below the doors.

Ordered a set of OEM Mopar carpet floor mats today from Amazon. Cheaper than any of the online dealers and with free shipping! Truck came with WeatherTech rubber floor mats but not the original carpet ones. Tough to find online at the dealers. A lot are indicating they're discontinued already!

Power Inverter comes stock on the Citadel. 115 AC power outlet in the 2nd row seats. On/Off switch on the dash.

This will come in handy when selling PCs on Craigs List. Can power them from the vehicle to prove they work.

New OEM Mopar Carpet Floor Mats arrived today. Look pretty spiffy!

Some more spiffy stuff came in today for Durango III.

A 3D Maxpider Kagu Cargo Liner. Wasn't cheap but neither is the dealer and this is better than those molded rubber mats.

And the official FSM on disc from Mopar Tech Authority that was $70 cheaper than anything on Ebay! Along with a couple of Dodge logo cup holder coasters for $8.99.

Verified the AWD switches between Normal & Low range today. No issues. Heard horror stories about the Solenoid not switching if it's not exercised regularly. Forgot to do it on the Test Drive.

Never had a 4WD or AWD vehicle before. A new experience for me.

Trying to get the windshield replaced and scheduled with the dealer I bought it from. There's a crack that goes almost all the way across the windshield about 2 inches from the top. It's noted in the Sales paperwork they would replace it. Normally I wouldn't worry too much about it but it has the "Rain Sensing" option and needs to be Calibrated after windshield replacement. Would've shoved it off on my own Insurance except for the expense.

We'll see.

Windshield replacement scheduled for next Tuesday at the Dealer. They'll give me a loaner and I can pick it up the next day after it's replaced and Calibrated. w00t!
