Did a little engine painting recently to make everything match the way it is suppose to!

Also installed an oil catch can!

Looking good... Catch can work? These engines love to suck in the engine oil from the ventilation system.

I like to tease and say it's a high performance thing...

Yeah it works great, at least as far as I can tell. I checked it since it was installed around a week ago, but no oil has accumulated what so ever. So that's good at least. Also painted that to match everything.

Well today I got a bill for $554 from college so it looks as if future mods are put on hold. Out of anger I decided to jump and try something a little weird and want to show you guys.

I took my dremel and bored down the outside of my spare throttle body to be essentially flush so the air entering isn't restricted by that hill. It's still 68 mm, but if anything it should be a free mod, with the exception of some dremel sanding bits I already had.

Still kind of a mock up. Need to polish it down to a smoother finish before it'd be ready, but I suppose it isn't that bad, better than a stock set-up would be I would assume. If anything I can still send my other throttle body off and get it bored out.

Well I installed the bore matched throttle body, but I haven't been able to tell much of a difference. Idles slightly higher, which is probably because of the sensor being cleaned up. I'm assuming that'll go down over time. It's only about a 100 over normal idle. I'll have to take it out for a test run tonight and see if butt dyno can tell anything. Also in 2004 did they change the tb plate to a silvery metal? When I pulled it out compared to the one that was going in it seemed different because the other is a brass color as you can see

I've always known them to be the brass color... But I recall a 04 one being silver for some reason.. I'll have to check my spare one downstairs!

How does she feel when the turbo-v-tech kicks in now?

The turbo vtec kicks in hard at around 6000 rpms, gives me the awesome extra boost in the next 250 before shift.! In all honestly though, I think it helped slightly, but hard to tell. Butt dyno says slightly faster increase in rpm during passing and hard acceleration, but otherwise not much of a difference. My '04 TB has a silver plate and I just cleaned it up. Weird. Going to probably have that one sent off to be for real bored while I play with the one I have. For a free mod and it kept me busy I believe it was worth it.

Been a while since I had an update.

Car is currently on the lift getting the solenoid changed out. Ran out of time yesterday and won't be back in town to finish for a couple days. So there's that

Also ordered four sumitomo tires for the special rims so I can get rid of my used tires up front and the tires that came on the rims from when I bought them from Gorm last year!

Throttle body works just fine despite being ghetto ported. Still want to get a LIM and port that and slap that in there.

Update:
Transmission solenoid, fluid, and filter has been done
Four new tires have been mounted
Also did a little custom carbon fiber wrapping. Turned out better than expected honestly

8/16/14 Update
Wrapped the cold air intake in a heat reflective tape to keep the heat sinking down for longer rides. Don't really expect anything performance wise out of it, but I had some left over from another project so I decided why not!

Darkened up the rims with some black out paint and decently excited about the results. Not expert by any means, but a cheap change that doesn't look too bad!

Yeah yeah I know overspray... At least it blends in with the tires.

Really bright picture, but it gets the point across.
