Keep in mind that Cruising Ocean City weekend events make it a very busy and crowded area.
Official show entries will be in the range of 5-6,000 cars. These are the registered participants. Add to that the enthusiasts that will drive down their cars but will not register and spend the time oogling and cruising will probably push 10,000. That does not include late model enthusiasts like most of us that remember when we had that 57 Chevy or 63 Bonneville or 52 Mercury....
All that means is a base of operations is crucial. Either hotell/timeshare/or some other place to stay where you can leave your car and take the public transportaion.
Buses run from inlet to Delaware line 24/7 and a 24 hr pass is only $2.00...Boardwalk tramway runs most of the day and late evening (pay as you go (26th st to inlet) Don't remember how late 9,10 PM.
We will run a cruise/shopping trip for the ladies up to Rehoboth outlets and show and tell about our cars/
do meets and greets through out the weekend, some private times, at least one large get together meal (Hoopers Crabhouse has been the favorite).
Breakfast restaurant is on site and many other cuisines are within easy walking distance.
Admission to the actual show itself gets you into the three main display areas, the inlet, the convention center, and the 100th st lot. Beside the car and owner/builder there are also many aftermarket vendors .
The biggest attraction is actually seeing/hearing/feeling everybody else's cars that have come to this Mecca! You will see rods, customs, woodies, Ferrari's, Aston Martins, Vipers, Crossfires, 300C Vettes and everything in between cruising all day and most of the night.
Stay safe, sober (at least don't drive) and sane and everyone will have a memorable time.
Again this is an incredible event where the whole family can have a great time. The hotel tv's have DVD player ??VHS player. There is mini golf almost across street, arcades, Ripley museum, US Life Saving Museum, pool, boardwalk, beach, fishing pier, hot rods, cars motorcyles, last October Confederate Air Force was doing flyovers B17, B24, P51. Watch the dolphin from the balcony or beach or boardwalk. Couple of guys with digital cameras can fill out the "hot or not "thread for the rest of the year. (We got 90 degrees last May!!
Live entertainment throughout the weekend, oldies concert Sat PM at Convention Center, Friday is "Night of Fire" with controlled burn outs, etc, etc.
As soon as we can get some hotel reservation we can start planning group activities. Icecream man can maybe hookup up with the local watering holes and book a gig for next year!!
