Cruising Ocean City (MD) May 19,20,21,22

The spring kick off is fast approaching with Ocean City May 19-22. The 300M club has made this event many times, this will be my third trip.
Unfortunately our cars are too modern for display (1976 +older) but we will be doing our own mini show for LH/LX &??.

Hotel is Howard Johnson on the boardwalk!! Show cars will parade right past your room balcony every morning and the cruise the beach nite and day!!

click the links for current information--more as we develop.

Have also included a campground link thanks to Pat/Jen-they stayed there in October.

Anyway the invite is upon you-you snooze you loose.

Hope we can get some treps and cords down for an exciting pre Memorial Day kick off. If you make it to Ocean City for 1 meet you will be hooked.

The city rocks, NEVER sleeps, and they roll out the red carpet for car nuts.

When you check above links for this years event you can scroll through for reviews from May and October last year.

For those who've been to JoeKD kart meets it looks pretty good that my son (2FNfast to karters) Ben is going to try to make the trip too.

Eight hours drive from just outside Boston, 1st time my wife thought she would humor me and come on down but discovered she had a great time and met some great people. October she couldn't find anyone to watch her kids (daycare) so she let me go on my honor. But she keeps asking "any news on Ocean City yet" so she's raring to go.

The whole thing is more than just "Boys with Toys"..there is something there for the whole family and all easy to get to.

Once peeps start commiting rooms will go fast.

You get there once, you'll be back!!

Keep in mind that Cruising Ocean City weekend events make it a very busy and crowded area.

Official show entries will be in the range of 5-6,000 cars. These are the registered participants. Add to that the enthusiasts that will drive down their cars but will not register and spend the time oogling and cruising will probably push 10,000. That does not include late model enthusiasts like most of us that remember when we had that 57 Chevy or 63 Bonneville or 52 Mercury....

All that means is a base of operations is crucial. Either hotell/timeshare/or some other place to stay where you can leave your car and take the public transportaion.

Buses run from inlet to Delaware line 24/7 and a 24 hr pass is only $2.00...Boardwalk tramway runs most of the day and late evening (pay as you go (26th st to inlet) Don't remember how late 9,10 PM.

We will run a cruise/shopping trip for the ladies up to Rehoboth outlets and show and tell about our cars/
do meets and greets through out the weekend, some private times, at least one large get together meal (Hoopers Crabhouse has been the favorite).

Breakfast restaurant is on site and many other cuisines are within easy walking distance.

Admission to the actual show itself gets you into the three main display areas, the inlet, the convention center, and the 100th st lot. Beside the car and owner/builder there are also many aftermarket vendors .

The biggest attraction is actually seeing/hearing/feeling everybody else's cars that have come to this Mecca! You will see rods, customs, woodies, Ferrari's, Aston Martins, Vipers, Crossfires, 300C Vettes and everything in between cruising all day and most of the night.

Stay safe, sober (at least don't drive) and sane and everyone will have a memorable time.

Again this is an incredible event where the whole family can have a great time. The hotel tv's have DVD player ??VHS player. There is mini golf almost across street, arcades, Ripley museum, US Life Saving Museum, pool, boardwalk, beach, fishing pier, hot rods, cars motorcyles, last October Confederate Air Force was doing flyovers B17, B24, P51. Watch the dolphin from the balcony or beach or boardwalk. Couple of guys with digital cameras can fill out the "hot or not "thread for the rest of the year. (We got 90 degrees last May!!

Live entertainment throughout the weekend, oldies concert Sat PM at Convention Center, Friday is "Night of Fire" with controlled burn outs, etc, etc.

As soon as we can get some hotel reservation we can start planning group activities. Icecream man can maybe hookup up with the local watering holes and book a gig for next year!!

hey all Ocean City attenders. i will be going too! and since my intrep is gone, i will be taking my 3000GT i'm installing my nitrous in it next week and my rims are already on, hopefully by the time i get down there my exhaust and springs will be on. but at the very least whoever wants just has to ask me and i'll take 'em out for a ride in a car WITH 100hp shot of NITROUS!!!! ahhh i'm so excited, i can't wait for the meet and i can't wait for my nitrous to be in.
wooohoooooooo
can't wait to see the LH/LX crew there

P.S. - my father just bought a 300C AWD in magnesium pearl. god damn what a beautiful car, i've already driven it a few times and that will definetly be the next new car i buy. [ 'cept in black :-) ]

Uh don't think that'll work. Parking lots have parking permits and are patrolled day and night to prevent unauthorized parking (once again parking is PREMIUM event weekends)

Get someone to share a room with you or check the campground links you will be a lot more comfortable (so will everyone else too). Can't beat the hotel location. Don't cheap
out and miss part of the fun.

I can just picture Luscious Louie leaning through your window LOL.
