Attn: Southern Cal people - Spring Fling

I am taking both of my cars to the Spring Fling car show on May 6th in Van Nuys. I attended last year and had a great time even though I was the only Intrepid there.

This year I will be in the FWD Stock (Yeah, I know not too stock) with the Intrepid

and FWD Modified with the 300M

Look forward to seeing any of you.

Charles

Unfortunately, that day I will be down the street at Pierce College in Woodland hills coordinating the fundraising event I told you about. Of course it would fall on that day... :(

Why is it that I see sooooo many Intrepids over here, but there are very few members from over here?

Wow!
That brings back memories, I lived in the valley until 1998. I went to many car shows in woodley park. Last time I went it was in my 69 GTX...

I did not go for Saturday

We went up Sunday for the judged show.

The Intrepid got third place for the Stock category, second place was a very clean Neon SRT-4, which did not bother me.

But first place about knocked me over. I did not get a picture, but it looked exactly like this one:

Both Jerry (SRT-4 guy) and I could not believe it.

The 300M did not win, again the category was dominated by PT Cruisers, the first place guy had Lambo doors, custom flame paint job, and a stereo that took up the entire back of the car, 10 amps, 9 flat screens, 6 12" woofers.

the second place car had almost as much.

I don't think I will go back next year, last year was my first and it was beautiful even though I did not win anything, but I found out that it was not in its normal location last year because of flooding, it was on the golf course across the street, this year we were back in Woodley Park which was a complete dust bowl, by the time I parked, both cars were brown, and it was a never ending battle to try and keep them clean with a steady wind blowing the dust around.

I am going back to the All American Car Show in June, it is going to be at a Shopping mall, so lots of walk up traffic, which is nice when you are showing off your car(s).

Get used to the PT Cruisers dominating any car show you go to that classifies you as "Chrysler," "Mopar," or "Mid-Sized." I went to an all American show one year where I was classified with a dodge shadow, two sebrings, and no less than 30 PT Cruisers. They're a dime a dozen and parts are just falling off the shelves for them, yet they still dominate custom car categories.

10 amps, etc. in a PT Cruiser? WTH!! Cruisers up here are not modded, unless their show cars that aren't driven.

Bummer, sorry to see the 1st gen didn't get 1st. She truly is a beauty!! In my books, you will always hold that 1st place title compared to any 1st gen year car

*shaking head about PT Cruisers, geez* lol

At Carlisle we struggled to get our own class. For years we were all just FWD 93+. Now we have one for Intrepids and one for 300Ms. Meanwhile, the PT Cruisers have somewhere around 25 classes just to themselves.
