Minnesota Meet (MOA?)

I'm thinking of maybe a meet on or after Sept. 22nd. I was thinking Mall of America and maybe casino after that. Either Mystic Lake Casino or my favorite Treasure Island Casino. I DO NOT WANT TO PLAN THIS MEET I would just like to see a meet go down. Maybe TehKing or others could plan this. Looks like last time they had a huge turnout and that meet was on January 31 lol.

Any thoughts?

I would be down for both the meet and some Poker at the Casino if thats what your intending to play. The 22nd would work out great for me. Perhaps we could hit Hooters before we hit the Casino

Micholob, aren't you down in Osceola though? That's like 30 minutes from the Missouri border.

However, that's good to know that you get $10 to play when you buy gas. I might just stop there for gas next time I'm up to the Twin Cities (which could be next weekend Aug 11-12).

That certainly is one stretch that begs to be sped on.

But I've notice a couple years ago the emergence of these white lines in the left lane strategically placed so that helicopters can clock your speed.

We gravel travel so them lines dont apply, also got the 360 degree lazer/rader scanner/jammer, but yeah.. sometimes it takes longer, like last saturday the trip for smokes and 6% beer ended up being 160 miles long

I see, so you take the back roads to avoid the troopers on I35. I was gonna say, no lazer/radar/jammer is gonna affect helicopters since they literally clock you with special stopwatches so that's why they need those white marks on the road to be able to know when to start and stop the timer.

Those lines arnt for helicopters. Those lines are 1/4th of a mile. Normally when cops set up for helicopters they put 2 huge X's on the ground so that its easier to see. On highway 20 going from here to CF there is about 100 of the lines lol.

Anyways, Mike, like I said in the pervious post my girl wants to go to MOA so we are going there. Maybe we can make a weekend out of it and go to MOA one day and have the meet the other if you guys dont want to go there too.

I would like to go but i doubt i will have the time to make it up there.

Also to sweeten the pot Nhogan, the casino has the Bonnie & Clyde "death car" on display for a couple more weeks. I just saw it earlier today and something everyone around here should come see.

I probably will not come up unless there is some interest from the usual Minnesota crowd.

Yes they are for helicopters. Don't you remember that news story awhile back about the kid on the crotch rocket who got nailed for the fastest speed ever up in Minnesota? That's how the helicopter clocked the two kids. By using special stopwatches and those lines. And yes, they are every 1/4 mile exactly, which is how they can then extrapolate how fast someone was going.

I'm not saying that they aren't using X's elsewhere, nor am I saying that those white marks are only used by helicopters, but that's one use of those painted white lines.

The white lines are used for police air units. KC PD uses them all the time when the traffic unit wants to do enforcement around MCI Airport on I-29 and I-435....
