2000 Chrysler 300M - Florida - $3250
So unfortunately this little project of mine has to go. I was going to use it as my get around car but I just had ANOTHER pay cut at work and right now my family could use the extra money to help make ends meet for a couple months...
Car is located in Lake Placid, FL 33852.
I purchased this vehicle needing a supposed head gasket, however, when I started tearing into it the engine had suffered a catastrophic failure because of a faulty spark plug which broke and fell down into the piston. So in any case, the engine in the car was shot and not worth investing money into.
I somehow got really lucky and found a low mileage engine over in Tampa for a good price. I took this engine and completely tore it down to inspect it even though the salvage yard did give me a guarantee. Everything looked great so I went through quite a bit of work resealing the engine and making sure it would have no leaks since im putting so much work into it!
While the engine was out I did inspect what I could of the tranny and the fluid is clean and red and looks to be in great shape. But being anal like I am I decided to put a new front seal in the transmission since that job can only be done while either the engine or the trans is out of the car. So in this case, a $2 seal can buy a lot of piece of mind!
And naturally since the engine was out I pressure washed everything and made sure it was as sparkling as I could get it from the top side.
With the new engine installed she fired up on the first try with no problems. Oh and I should mention that I did put in a new air filter and platinum spark plugs.
The car runs like a dream. No smoke, no ticks, no wierd noises, ICE COLD A/C, the transmission shifts flawlessly, and every option on the car works.
And that last statement should not be taking lightly as this car is loaded with the following options:
- Full Power Options> Windows, Locks, Doors, Mirrors
- Sunroof that doesnt leak and works great
- Memory & Heated seats for both Driver & Passenger
- Infinity Stereo System with the rare 4 Disc In Dash CD Changer
- Overhead Trip Computer which tells you things like gas mileage and distance to empty
- Autostick Transmission
- Factory Indiglo Gauges
- Center Mounted Analog Clock that WORKS!
- Fully Automatic Climate Control that works with no issues
Mechanically and electronically this car is in excellent condition and I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere.
Cosmetically the car looks like a 10 year old car would that was driven an average of 15k miles per year. There are some nicks and scratches and a few door dings and I will leave those up to the new owner if they want to have them fixed or not. The car has a Clean Carfax Title History but it did show a rear end collission quite a few years ago and looking at the car only someone knowing what to look for would know it was repaired.
As far as any current damage Ill be honest in saying the front bumper cover had a front license plate bracket that I removed and it left some ugly holes and there were some light scrapes and love bug damage that would not clean out. So I stripped the bumper, filled the holes, and resprayed the bumper. Looks like new! Now the hood had an ugly dent in it from where it looks like someone dropped something right in the middle of it and naturally more love bug damage at the front. If you look at the pics you will see the hood is not on the car. I am dropping it off at the body shop tomorrow for them to repait and repaint as doing something of that size is not for me as im good at painting but not good at body work. So you will be getting a nice freshly painted hood on the car.
The headlights did have some yellowing and I buffed them out and brought them up to a pretty decent clear which to me at this point does not warrant the need for new lights.
As far as the rest of the body I completely buffed the entire car with Mirror Glaze #3, clay barred it, and then waxed it with Mothers FX SynWax. So she is shining pretty good as the pictures show.
The interior is in exceptional shape with the worst of the wear being on the drivers seat bolster from getting in an out and honestly its really not bad at all. There are no holes or rips or anything like that on the inside. Someone did along the way install a chrome switch kit which accents things nicely as well as an aftermarket wood interior kit which is very nice as well. I do not have original floor mats. I just tossed in a set of old Caravan mats I had laying around so at least something was on the floor. The original rear mats are there though! Oh and did I mention that the back seats fold down for a great amount of pass through space!
This car was also oddly equipped in that she is fully loaded with all the extra options but someone went with the more economical 16" Chrome Wheels vs. the 17" design. This is great because the 16" Wheels offer better ride quality, better gas mileage, and are a lot less expensive to replace! Speaking of tires this car has a matching set of Michelin tires on it. The rears have over 70% tread left while the fronts are down to around 30-40% and will need to be replaced in the future but for now are fine.
The car recently had all new brakes put on it front and rear and the rotors cut as well. So she stops great!
I know I have really made this car out to be really nice but please keep in mind that the body has 156k miles on it and the Engine about 60k miles on it. This car is used and things happen. I try to take care of any safety issues and make cars run as nice as possible before I part ways with them and I can not be held responsible if two months from now you have a problem.
I think I have been as honest as possible and have the car priced very reasonably below the KBB & Nada advertised numbers.
Email or PM me and I will get back to you with a phone number if needed.
