Need Help: 99 Honda Accord Transmission

So I have a friend that needs some automotive help.

She has a 99 Honda Accord Sedan LX w/ the 4 speed. Took it to have some work done on the front axle about a month ago, and then today her transmision went out. She didnt drive the car much during that time, but when she checked the transmission fluid, well, there was no fluid to speak of, so the shop that did the work probably never put any in, as there were no visible leaks to speak of. She said she had started to feel the car jerk two days ago and was going to take it tomorrow to have it looked at.

Basically, she needs a new transmission, so I've opted to help her find one. Problem is, I cant find the production code for her tranny (like how ours is the 42LE or A206E IIRC), so all I keep finding is tranny parts, and not the whole tranny itself. Hoping yall can help me find out not only the code, but help me search for some in the area. Local ZIP code to use would be 30043.

Her other car was wrecked last weekend when a drunk guy hit her, so she was going to rely on this car, and is having a sort of rough patch as you can imagine. Really appreciate anything yall can come up with.

I'd go back to the shop that popped the axles out and talk to them - I think they hold responsibility for not adding fluid back in - would be worth a look to see if the axle removal results in fluid loss or not.

Otherwise, Call a junk yard and ask them what the interchange is. I'm guessing you will be stuck having to stay with same year and model.

Its 97-2001 from what I understand that can be used. It stayed as a 4-speed auto through to 2005, but something in the internals changed.

And shes trying to get the shop to pay for it, but they're fighting her, and she doesnt have time to waste, and I think they know that. Stupid crooked shops man. I hope they get burnt down
