g6 automatic belt tensioner



the whole tensioner is shaking back and fowward really bad .... is that normal or i need to change it ...... i will try to upload a video tomorrow ...

May indicate a bad spring on it, or a bad belt... How does the belt look? Those tensioners do wear out...

belt looks pretty good ... i will upload a video later on. so you guys can see....

might just be the pulley bearing too. get the belt loose and check it for free movement and any roughness in the bearing, etc. also check all driven things for free movement.an idler, alternator, etc going out can also be a cause.

I will bet on the tensioner, as soon as the spring gets weak they start to bounce.

Can't really tell, but yea, I'd guess tensioner based on that.

changing the tensioner anyways.... i still have the weird rough idle when car is in park or stop... i have clean evrything no check engine light ..... i get rid of the rought idle when i turn on the ac on weird... no 1 cant find the issue.

Perfectly normal in my opinion. No problem with the tensioner.
