'71 T-Bird with dual Mopar power? Little different
Im calling the idea "ThunderTrepid"
I like a challenge. I like uniqueness. I like to go fast for cheap! So I had an idea.
I bought a '71 Thunderbird 4-door with no engine. I also have another '99 and a '98 Intrepid I was going to make one nice car out of. And another project where I'm swapping a '97 F150 onto a '00 F150 frame with all the crap associated with a new engine and trans. Too many projects. I get way to excited, and never have the funds or time to finish.
What if I ditch and merge a couple?
I did all the measuring, and found I can fit an Intrepid power plant into the trunk of the T-bird. So how about a dual engine, AWD '71 Thunderbird? Either a dual 3.2 or maybe a 2.7 up front and a 3.2 in the rear. I figure it won't be that hard. Just cutting and fitting.

dual inlet/outlet radiator
front sub-frame from Intrepid merged into t-bird sub-frame
better struts mounted to custom strut towers
another Intrepid sub-frame mounted into rear
move rear wheels back 6" to keep rear seat
adjustable rear toe in bars
18 gallon plastic fuel cell behind rear engine
dual dual exhaust exiting the rear through the lower valance below the bumper(yes, 4)
I could make a steel cover to make it safe for rear passengers if anything happened. Already measured the dash out and I could probably swap in the cluster or entire dash with airbox. And the car would be nice with the leather seats from the '98 installed.
I have most of this sitting around already. It would definitely be awesome to hear two engines running and feel it haul AWD ass! Then throw people off when I open the hood to a small V6, and then open the trunk to another. And its really fitting to a car with rear suicide doors.
I know, its crazy. I need a little "different" in my life.
