My 97 3.3L Trep (Sig Page)

I've owned this car for about 14 months now, and I bought it because it was helping my brother to pay for his honeymoon, and I love how it felt like a barcalounger on wheels. His words there. But I gotta replace the struts on this beast to get back to that. But here's some pics I snapped. I don't have the cleanest car, it is my daily driver after all. But oh well.

Yes, I have SRT on my plates! So I call it my Intrepid SRT.

And now, the s*** that needs fixed, checked or replaced.

Spark plugs/wires (replaced 3/28/08)

Steering sector (flush and fill) anyone know if there are grease zirks on these?
Struts and mounts all four corners (possibly still OE)
Tires
Brakes (possibly calipers/rotors/drums as well)
half shafts
trans flush/fill, filter
stereo upgrade, speakers first

Scuff and repaint the roof and deck, possibly the hood as well since its pitted...maybe the whole damn car!

also considering some tech upgrades, I'd like to pimp it out so much that I could put my wife's laptop in it via an inverter, put some dynamat down, new carpet, new seats (maybe snag some leather like that canuck did in his car 97!)
considering some different wheels for it, whatcha think about 300M wheels? I don't want the 300C because I don't like how big those are.
eventually adding some 8" subs under the seats, specifically for when the wifey is in the car :icon_cool

Looks good. I like the purple too, my dad's pickup is the same and that was the big selling point. Too bad they haven't brought it back. I'd love to have a Challenger that color someday.

Oh man, its the best damn color ever!

All of us Iowa intrepid owners should have a get together in Ames sometime at Dublin Bay or some place with a big parking lot that we can take over and have an Intrepid car show

kind of an impromptu idea?

Also, something to add to the list. Ball joints....

I'm also looking into some interior upgrades, the 97 LHS that I saw at Wrench N Go had a really nice leather interior. Can it be slapped straight over to the Trep? Or would some mods be required.

Also, somethin I'm looking into. If you have ever been into a Firkin & Fox pub, you know they have the velour fabric on the seats. I'm thinkin, instead of red velour, how about I do purple, and maybe not do the buttons on it. I thought that'd look sweet. But then I'd have to do something with the carpet, HL and dash. Just a thought, do something old school pimp to it.

Ok, well, I can take brakes and steering sector off the list. I flushed the brakes, and got the fluid/watered down Diet Coke out of there. And got what looked like the outlet of the Mississippi River out of the steering sector. It was freakin nasty! It steers great and stops so hard that I can leave a 20ft black mark....while stopping! It's never done that as long as I've owned it!

It looks a bit haggard, but they're great cars. I miss my blue Intrepid.

Spark plugs/wires (replaced 3/28/08)
Steering sector (flush and fill) (4/20/08)
Brakes (ok, just flushed and bled the system 4/20)
New stereo (4/10/08)
Replaced R wheel bearing two months after I got the car in Jan 07.
Replaced L wheel bearing 6/21. Still pulling like crazy.
upper intake gasket job in 5/08

Struts and mounts all four corners (possibly still OE)
tie rod outers and inners on all four corners.
replace at least the left half shaft, because I think it is the source of my clunking
new steering knuckles up front (to be done during suspension rebuild, because if I have to re-align this f**ker, I'm making damn sure its worth the effort)
Tires
trans flush/fill, filter

new speakers all the way around

Scuff and repaint the roof and deck, possibly the hood as well since its pitted...maybe the whole damn car!
New/fix vents on rear of console
Get car detailed
consider getting the proper mirror for my car since the LHS mirrors don't look right.
New door panels since the switch plates and the door handle don't stay on proper.
