Paricites 94 3.3

This is the photographic progression of my Trep. When I got my Trep almost 2 years ago it was not a pretty or cool car.
Photobucket

The interior was coverd in stains so I decided to upgrade it to something nicer. Leather from a 94 Cord.

I then decided to do something about the outside. Not a lot of cash so Flat Black spray paint would have to do.
Photobucket

Upgraded the stereo a bit. Kenwood head unit, 2 12" Alpine Type R's and a 900 watt Kenwood amp.
Photobucket

I then found and joined DI.net and got bit by the mod bug. (Thanks guys) I started with the OTIS and auto mirror.
Photobucket

Then I went for a DIY CAI and Heat shield.
Photobucket

And finally (at least for now)A full Auto stick install.
Photobucket
I even changed over my odometer so i could keep my original 280,000 miles.
Photobucket

Well that's my Trep story up to now. It still may not be pretty but it is definitely cooler. I know for a fact that I'm not done yet. I still have a few ideas that I need to implement. Now to find the time to get them done before winter gets here and shuts me down.

Thanks for looking, Bob

My thoughts exactly LOL

Anyways,
at least I'm not the only flat black sprayed 1st gen anymore xD At least yours was done willingly and by you and looks good. Dad did mine because it was given to him for until I got out of college (except I got it back now because he got arrested) and he just wanted to change the color....

Anyways have fun, ask questions, and enjoy yours 1st gen

I love my first gen. I think it's a great car. I wish it looked a little nicer but hey looks don't get you down the road. With 280000 on it it runs great and gets me where I need to go and back. Only left me stranded once and that was my own doing. I had put in a premium BCM that had the alarm function. A little rewire and I was on my way again.

Well it may not be summertime yet but its warm enough to start with car projects again. I have this affliction for Rat-rods and since my Intrepid runs great but looks like hell and I can't afford to build a true vintage Rat-Rod I have decided to do a try and rat out the Intrepid some.

I already had the correct paint job so I decided I would make a 2 foot tall Rat-Fink style shifter. I had it in for about a week when I decided this would look cool with if the eyes lit up. So some reading about LED wiring and I was ready to give it a try. It turned out just like I envisioned it.

I also did the center taillight mod (since I was messing with LEDs) thanks to the how to section on here.

I figured out how to get the clear cover off so I could remove the Intrepid and replace it with the Ratrepid from the inside using some spray paint and a hand cut stencil.

I have a few other ideas I'm trying to figure out if I can do them, they will work or are worth doing.

Awesome project - the shifter will have to grow on me, though.

I do like the idea of removing the clear cover and doing something special with it.
