Unbolt AC Compressor (2000 Trep RT)

Hi all,

I’m trying to replace the passenger side valve cover gasket on a 2000 Intrepid RT and it says to unbolt the AC compressor and swing/slide it out of the way. Is this as simple as it sounds? I can only see 3 mounting bolts (one is a dual bolt facing forward).

Happy New Year!
AJ

Yeah, it's easy. I believe there are 2 side bolts and the one bolt in the front. Took the front bolt and the side bolt closest to the front out and loosened the other one until I could swing it a bit. It doesn't take much swing to get the valve cover to come out.

Oh and make sure your a/c belt is off.

Should be 4 bolts on the side. Two at the side top and two side below to get the compressor off the bracket.

@codyj @Ronbo How do you guys deal with the wiring harness? The cover is perfectly loose now, it’s just lashed in by that damn harness!

I have the 3.5L and the harness isn't in the way of the valve covers. Maybe someone before you monkey'd around with it?
