Just looking for some good recommendations on speakers for the front door factory speakers. I have an 04 intrepid SE, and I've already gotten an aftermarket stereo, but no amp. Just looking for a little more power and base for the front door speakers

Without an amp at all, I'd recommend a set of 2 way Kicker 6.5" speakers. I've had good luck with them in my early Durango that doesn't have an amp. Big improvement in sound. Mopar used to offer Kicker speakers as add on options for the LX cars and people used them in the LH cars with an improvement also. Try Crutchfield.com and see what they have. The bonus with them is they usually offer speaker adapter rings and adapter wiring plug-n-play harnesses for a low cost or free.

You don't have any speakers up by the door mirrors? If not you have the Base Audio System no amp. If you had the speakers up there then you would have a Midline audio system with an amp in an SE.

The JVC might have a little more internal power than the OEM but not much.

I still stand by the Kickers. Mu Durango SLT was a 4 speaker system powered solely by the OEM radio internal amp and the kicker speakers were a very noticeable improvement.

glad you posted this. My speakers buzz at moderate to high volume. I do have the small speakers by door mirrors. Mostly the rear speakers buzz. Any recommendations on replacements? Kickers, also?

And I have a Kenwood aftermarket radio. I'm thinking about going back to the original Chrysler radio. I'd like to have the 6 CD player working. The Kenwood only holds 1 CD. Anybody got one for sale?

What year car and trim level? Do you have Premium Sound or Infinity? Mid-Level Systems also have speakers up by the door mirrors. Premium Sound and Infinity are 2 ohm speakers. Mid-Level and Base Audio are 4 ohm speakers. If you have two ohm speakers now I recommend aftermarket Infinity speakers as replacements. If 4 ohm then Kicker.

You already have the 6 CD changer and cable? Or are you talking about the stock radio with an Internal 6 disc changer(rare)? I have the 6 CD changer/cable and several different radios for different years. I also have one of the stock radios with the internal 6 disc changer.

Contact me if you're interested in any of these items. Here's an example of some of the radios I have:

Can't believe I didn't post the info on my car.

'03 SXT. I don't know what kind of system I have.
The 6 CD player is separate from the radio. Sits at the bottom of the stack, above the ash tray.
The Kenwood radio is apparently made to fit the Intrepid as the bezel is shaped for it. But, the there is no wiring harness going to the CD player, now.

So it looks like you'll need a stock radio with changer controls and a cable from the radio to the changer? You still have the stock wiring in the car for the original radio? Making sure it's not hacked up?

I'll get pictures of the OEM radios I have that will work for you. Probably this weekend.

Best I can tell the factory harness in plugged into the back of the Kenwood but, the harness to the CD player is missing.
Difficult to see back there.
If the factory setup does not have a shuffle feature , I may just go with a completely different aftermarket setup.
