EVIC Tempature Reading

How does the EVICread the outside temperature? Is there a temp sensor or does it use the map sensor or something? Thinking of doing this on the wife's 01 Intrepid. As always thanks for the knowledge.

it takes its readings from the Ambent temp sensor from the AC,, my 2000 intrepid did not have a Otis/ evic,, so I stuck one in,, 3 little wires,, it worked perfect,, now , note you have a 01, so some features of a evic, may, or may not work, may have to go otis,

The Ambient temp sensor is already in your car unless someone removed it. All LH cars have it installed from the factory.
