Since you have a 1999 - finding a 3.5HO from a 98-01 car will make things easiest on you. It'll be plug-n-play, IIRC.

Contact DayTrepper. He sells a Step-By-Step How-To manual on the swap. Very detailed. Makes the job a million times easier from what I've heard.

Also, IIRC there is a thread posted about this particular subject....h/o and I'll try to find it

Daytrepper (Dan) is one of the big go-to guys about this. He was very helpful (and his manual invaluable) in getting my swap done.

from what i remember the differences are throttle cable, alternator, power steering pump/w resevoir, either add an oil cooler or plug the lines(not my recommendation), driver side exhaust would either need to be modified or taken from a 3.2/3.5, A/C... i think. if you can, try to get the engine as complete as possible, it will make things much easier. btw, the 2.7 ECU will still run the 3.5, i don't think anybody ever proved if there really was a difference between the programming, but i have a hunch that the 2.7 can't control the manifold tuning valve.

make sure you keep the old tcm, if you put in the one that went with the 3.5 your gauges will be off. But yes, no worries there!!

The 3.5s use a different top end gear set. And trust me, you want the gears you have, I installed them in my car on purpose! if you put the 3.5 TCM in the gauges will be off by a few percent. just Leave your current TCM in and it will be good to go!!
