Custom 1 of a kind Cluster.

OK...so I've been working on my cluster changing stuff here n there.. I finally decided .. I want a 1 off design.. so I came up with this ..

It will be lit a couple different ways..I just need to figure out EXACTLY how I want it done.. Because I hate seeing lighting that's not full/even
I'm thinking I LOVE options..so i'm doing it like this..all switchable
2 center dials lit white..2 side dials lit blue
2 center white /2 side dials red
all 4 red
all 4 blue
All 4 white
I know this will require multiple switches.. but hey..that's what my next project is for..I found some great switches that are about 1/4" round..push-on-push-off locking type..very discrete

It's 1/8" plexi ..scuffed lightly, painted with a clear plastic primer, numbers painted in metallic black .. I had a decal shop make this for me using an old 300M cluster face as a template for size/positioning ..I sat down with him and got everything the way I wanted.. The rear of the plexi has 2 layers of Gila frosted privacy "tint" to hide the internals and diffuse my lighting better..I might put another layer on because in the pics I can faintly see one of the cluster needle "motors". Internal lighting will surely bring that out more.
Close up:

my cluster glass is tinted 20% (not pictured but is in my cardomain page) so the shadows wont be an issue below the numbers (like in pics)

As for the Odometer..it's being relocated to the dash..up by the VIN area.

I just threw the bezel on ..so the rough edges/misaligned look will be gone once it's positioned properly (already been tested and confirmed that it covers the bad spots)

Let me know what you all think.. likes dislikes..suggestions..

my temporary sig page..till I get time to make one! HERE

the only thing that bugs me with the stainless overlays is the way you have to have holes cut out for the warning lights, etc.

I had always thought if I do something custom with the cluster, I would figure out how to put them all in a row across the bottom or row up the middle

*edit - forgot to mention - excellent planning and execution on this

Thanks everyone!!! .. So sounds like the next move is .. LIGHT THE DAMN THING UP!! .. I'll see what I can do..It's in the project file cabinet bursting at the seams lol

SC.INTREPID.. I first wanted to move all the lights for that reason too...But my movitation for that project was lost..maybe I'll do that on my next cluster

Never got around to the lighting.. I did redo the background ..took off the privacy tint..and put a few layers of frosted glass paint..and then lightly over that with white..it LOOKS the same..but is not so transparent.. I'm changing the LED in my mirror (auto dim) now..It's a surprisingly easy swap.... the led just pulls out..cut the new LED leads shorter and slide it in ..I'm going to sand it down to diffuse it a little first......and I'm sanding down the mirror housing to make it smooth..then repainting it ...also painting the pedestal that holds the mirror........This project is high on my priority list..so It will get done fairly soon..soon as i'm satisfied with it..

& thanks R1RYDA.. you get them pics of the bra yet?
