300m php ecm tcm

I have an opportunity to buy a 300M PHP ECM and TCM. My question is I currently have 3.89 gears and a 2.7 TCM.

Will the PHP ECM do anything for me if I dont use it in conjunction with the TCM? I dont want to waste my time having a dealer install it and match it up with my sentry system if I'm not going to get close to 300M Special performance out of the 2.7TCM PHP ECM setup. What are your thoughts?

The answer from TFC ""The PHP has a higher limited speed, and a bit different fuel mapping than the standard, though they are both rated at 250/253 depending on what you read and which year.
If you have the part number of the one you have stock as well as the other one, I can tell you what the differences "should" be.
As far as swapping, you may get a bit different shifting, since the ECM does tell the TCM when it is the optimum shift times.
With only 5 basic HP between the Special and the "other" 300s, unlikely you'd notice much difference in day to day driving. On the track, you might notice maybe 1/10th.
As to whether it is worth the cost of having a dealer reflash it, see above line - sorry I can't be more expilicit, but the improvement overall would be minimal.
Now, if you had an Intrepid ES or R/T, it would be a different matter."

Being that I have an ES, I wonder what the HP increase and 1/4 mile time difference would be.
