Cool Two-tone on the outside.. why not the inside? with a mod!

I have been collecting parts for the swap and decided to get them in today. Having to add the "car seat" mod, I had to sacrifice the rear buckets for the standard bench style. Not trusting a new life to a home made mod.

Today I got the special taupe seats in, both dash ends and side panels and the knee bolster. Still have to get a glove box (on its way). The console had to modded to adapt my radio/climate controls, Also added a new electrical mod for the console...

The power outlets I added and inverter. Thats an EL sheet over the vent control hole. It glows green when the inverter is on. I plan to do this for all the openings.

I have a mod for that.... I am going to be puting them back once I get a better bracket system made up. The bench isnt looking so bad, at least I have somewhere to sleep at meets now!

I really like how the taupe goes with the exterior color. And for all the parents out there, you guys ever have a problem with a car seat affecting the rear seat? Should I get a cover?

DEFINATELY, at the least fold up a bath towel and put the carseat on it, otherwise you will have the indentation's from the plastic base, and they are a bitch to try n get out...

I havent had a problem with the seats. They'll get dented for sure. But a day or two in the warm sun and they've come right back form e so far. Towel might be a good idea... not sure how much it will really help though.

April's car has three kids seats in it and very minor marks left behind if we pull them out. Towels don't help much.

Exactly! If you're really worried about it, put a cloth seat bottom in when the baby seat is in, and swap it out for the shows.

I really loved my tu-tone interior, but with 4 kids riding in the car It was to labour intensive to keep clean. Slate FTW!

I have made this a bolt on mod. All you need is my brackets, some material and 1/4" plywood. (or whatever you can find as backing). I had my the special bench seats installed within 20 minutes. Well after I vacuumed and cleaned everything.

Most of my mods are on my Cardomain.

I was going to do the rear bucket seats on my car until I ended up with four step kids. Have to wait until we get a second car.

Thumbs down

Got around to console part, remember the ATC and radio are in there? Not as easy as swapping them out....

Top view of new console before and after hole:

Got the hole cut in the new lid:

ATC installed:

Adding a little extra to the console as well....
