debadging...

Hi there,

I did a search and read about a dozen of old post on debadging. I just debadged my 2000 intrepid because I lost the "I" one day. After I got the letters off, i used some goo gone to try and get the remainder off but you can still see the outline of the letters pretty easily. I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on how to get the remaining lettering off.

Thanks,

Is it glue residue or is it because the paint is darker because the sun hasn't hit it since the letters were put on? Use some acetone on a rag but test for paint damage in a area you wont see first. If that will work you will/should wax the area as the acetone will remove any wax other may chime in with other solutions

"A picture is worth a thousand words" !!

I'd suggest a plastic scraper if the GooberGone couldn't remove the remaining adhesive.

I've removed a few badges from my 2000 RT and I can tell you that immediately after removing the badge, yes, you can clearly see an outline of the letter. BUT, the good news, is that with time, the outline will fade. Once I waited a few months, you cant even see the outline of the old letters.
You can try the acetone suggestions made earlier, but they will fade in time.

if u have access to a buffer that will work as well to lightly polish the area
