Illuminated headlight switches aren't just for the super-rich

The super-poor can have them too!
If this has been done before, I am not aware of it.

I got bored after work and this is what I came up with.

I had a plug laying around that was for an illuminated switch.

I removed the orange #9 pin and spliced it into the orange wire on the heater control switch pigtail. Ran the wire across to the switch where I placed it in the open #9 slot on the plug.

I still don't have any good bulbs yet, but I did check the strip across the top and confirmed 12V at the switch.

So, all in all, it took about 45 minutes, 30" of wire, 2 wire crimps and a Diet Dew to rig this up. It's 90 degrees in the shade so I don't know why this couldn't have waited.

Also, completely unrelated, as I did this weeks ago but I got a pic of it finally:
This is how you rig up your car if you only have one working key and do not want to pay more than $4 for another key.

Yes, all 03's and 04's were stripped of a lot of things, including lighted headlight switches, lighted window and door lock switches and courtesy lamps in all the doors. I mean, why would anybody want to find any of those things in the dark anyways right?

Exactly^^ I upgraded my '03 Specials wiring to '01 specs where everything was nicely lit! I even change the Trac button to have the lighted one.

That's a Sentry key he's got. A replacement key from the dealer can easily cost $80 or more for the key, cut and programming. So it looks like he attached the Sentry key to the SKIM module and had a standard key cut and is using that for the ignition switch. Only issue with that is the SKIM is defeated with that sentry key there. So anyone can jack the ignition lock and start the car and have it run as normal.

Really? Screw Diamler and their cheapa** decontenting!

Also, "Illuminated headlight switches aren't just for the super-rich" isn't a Red Green reference, is it? Because if it is, I love it!
