Need a List of Performance Parts

I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid R/T that I would like to add performance parts. I would like to know what would make it faster and what performances parts I should use. We are planning on drag racing it when we get it all done for fun, but I also need to be able to drive it one the road too. If you can give me some ideas that would be awesome.

(I have also been having a problem with my autostick I posted about it in a different forum also but if you have any ideas about that to it would really help me)

Welcome to the site.

There isn't much in performance parts offerered for our cars. You can get a custom intake and exhaust but unless you plan on spending some serious cash to completely overhaul and bore the motor don't plan on racing for titles.

I dont believe its a motorsports edition at least it doesnt say anything about it but the engine looks the same but im just looking to make it faster so I can really have fun on the track. Maybe some quicker acceleration cause the car is fast we've gotten it to 135 easy but its not as fast as some of the others. I know thats partly cause this is one heavy car.

Actually, your main problem can be tracked to three things:

1. Airflow, both intake and exhast. Having a 180 degree bend in your exhaust really sucks.
2. Programming. Its proprietary-based (like many others) but its pretty much unhackable. The few companies that do that, charge pretty high and aren't developing any personal use programmers. Without being able to control fuel trim and other factors, its hard to really improve upon the engine.
3. The transmission is a bitch. It sucks right around 28.5% of power IIRC from the engine. So stock, you're barely putting 171-179 at the wheels with the HO motor. It also can't handle too much more power, right about 300HP at the crank stock. Anything past that, and you're risking completely destroying the tranny.

Fastest 1/4mile in a NA LH car is Tom, at right around 14.216 or something like that.

Our cars weigh between 3500 - 3700 lbs depending on trim level. Pretty much anything performance wise that has been done to these cars has been made within the community.
Sure, there is the K&N FIPK that is available. But there is also the JoeKD intake that is sold and made by a member of the community as well. I have made and sold TB's, Intake Spacers, 160* t-stats. My car is a pretty exotic list of modifications, and is a fairly quick car, though no longer the fastest Normally Aspirated LH, it is the second fastest.

PM me if you have any questions...

Second fastest? Are you counting the 4.0L stroker?? Cuz otherwise I don't see how anyone is faster than you with a standard block.

No one with the stroker motors have hit the track, or even gotten them on the road yet (as far as I know)

We have to see what those motors will do.
I still have a trick or two up my sleeve...

I think Ron (I think thats dmondeac) has gotten it on the road for short drives, but I think he was having some kind of fuel trim or misfire problems of some sort. Cant remember.

And I sure hope you do. I still haven't got a chance to ride in the passenger's seat...

In my mind, that doesn't count.
On the road means driven day in, day out with all the bugs worked out of it.
He is still "shaking it out"

And let me be perfectly clear about this...what I said is in no way a "dig". The stroker is ground breaking work, and I for one want it to succeed!! I would love to see one go down the track and see an honest to goodness 1/4 mile time out of one of them.
