EVIC & LHEVIC What's the difference?

Just curious came across two evic's yesterday at the wreckers. One was from a 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I reconized the OEM part number and at the bottom said just EVIC.

The other was from a 04 Jeep Liberty, didn't reconize the OEM part number but it said LHEVIC.

Whats the difference? Does the one from the 04 have more programming options? and should I have installed the 04 because my car is an 04.

some light on this would be helpful, driving my wife nuts cause I'm second guessing just not grabbing the 04.

Thanks

Didn't get my question. Liberty does use evic but the one I saw in it was LHEVIC.
The one in the grand Cherokee was just an EVIC. What's the difference between the two?

I've seen the ''LHEVIC'' variations before, they seem to come from Jeeps. Possibly because the Jeeps were made to be LH and RH drive?

yeah got it from a Jeep Liberty but then again I got the other EVIC from a Grand Cherokee so that being said i don't think that it's because it came from a jeep... either way not using it cause I loose some programming functions and it displays "3 doors open" when I only have front passenger door open.

"3 Doors Open" is common. LH's don't distinguish between any of the passenger doors but does show if it's the driver's door.
