Intake i made

I used 3" aluminum pipe cut angle welded n ground smooth. Just kept it simple put a K&N filter on it. Still need to make the heat shroud.

How is it sealing into the plastic intake box at the back of the engine? It looks very nice, always like something hand crafted. Have you coated it with anything to protect against corrosion?

That ain't too bad. When I did my homemade intakes on my 99 M, I always used ABS tubing.
I could never find aluminum like that....
It would be nice to "box" in the cold air area.....I have thought about making a "lid" for my K&N FIPK.

I used a rubber coupler to seal the aluminum to plastic part. And going to work on a heat shield next week. I didnt coat it with anything prob gona get it powdercoated black to look stock.

You tig weld that, or was that a braze or solder?
