Retrofit heated seats into a 98 concorde

I have a 98 concorde that has cloth power seats. I have heated power leather seats from a 98 300. I grabbed some of the wiring from the 300. Has anyone put the heated seats in and been successful with the heat working? If so what do I need to know or is there a write up with pics? I still have the 300 if I need more?

I'm pretty sure the BCM in 98 cars won't run heated/memory seats. You'd need a BCM from a 99 or later to get it all to work.

Does a 98 300 even have heated seats?

No 1998 cars had heated/memory seats. The 300m wasn't out until 1999. That's why I suggested switching to a 1999-2001 BCM to get the upgrade to work. There might be other issues there if VTSS is involved on the original car, etc.

Going to say it's a mistake on the poster saying the seats are from a 1998 300m. There were no 300m's in 1998.

Just sayin' Don't hate me for being the bearer of bad news for the direct swap. I'm sure I'll catch crap from someone for pointing out the facts of a 1998 not being able to run heated/memory seats.

The production date is in 98 and the vin is registered as a 98. So what have I got? Will the bcm from the 300 work in the concorde?

Production date of the car the "heated" seats came out of?

It's not uncommon for a car to be built in the later part of a previous year for sale as a later model. For example a 1999 300m could have a build date of Nov/Dec 1998 and actually be a 1999 model.

The point here is your car the 1998 Concorde won't have a BCM that's compatible for the Heated/Memory seats from a 1999-2004 car. You'd need to get a BCM from a 1999-2001 car to have the feature programming for the heated/memory seats...along with the seats themselves and the wiring etc. Even though the 300m could have build dates of late 1998 it's classified as a 1999 model. No 1998 models will have the required BCM.

Are you talking about your Corde or the M the seats came out of? What we're trying to tell you that in order to get factory LH heated seats to work you need a 1999+ LH BCM. No cars in 1998 came with heated seats. Only when the LHS and 300m were introduced in 1999 did they. So you need a BCM out of a 1999-2004 car.

Yes I am speaking of the production date of the 300. Right so will the bcm out of the 300 work in the concorde? Was the 300 released in canada in 98 but not the states? I am in canada and both are canadian cars. IIRC all the LH cars were built in canada but US models were a different spec.

Again....you'd need a BCM from at least a Model Year 1999 car.

You can go back and get the BCM from the same car you got the seats out of and you should be fine with that.

The 300 has a prod date of 4-98 the concorde is 3-98. So again do I need to change the BCM and will the one from the 300 work?

I'll make it simple. The BCM that's in your 1998 Concorde will not run heated/memory seats. No Model year 1998 cars have a BCM that will run heated/memory seats.

So, yes. Change out the BCM. Forget build dates and all the other crap. No, the heated seats will not work in your Concorde unless you also switch out the BCM with the one thats in the 300M.

Simple enough?
