Adding 300M heated seats?

I've added rear leather seats, but put off the front seats until near end of winter. That, and removing power seats from a yard car without power is a mystery to me. I believe I came across some 300M's with heated seats (not sure if it's standard).

So question is, can I add this function to my Intrepid (no ATC)? If not without an ATC isn't it a matter of making a manual switch? Worst case, I got two new power leather seats for my Trep I suppose, which beats the one power and one manual cloth seats.

Any tips on removing these power seats from a yard car without a battery? Only solution I can think of is go armed with a small bike/lawn mower 12V battery and go at it that way, as I could not find a way to manually crank power seats.

You can use a battery from a power tool like a drill.I've used the 18v. battery from my Dewalt drill to move power seats in the yard to aid in removing the mounting bolts.

you Can get the rear bolts out without moving the seat up, a 15mm gearwrench fits in there,, loosen one a couple of turns,, then the other one a couple of turns, its a slow process, but I did it that way for the seats in the concorde

I just bring a battery jumper pack with me and hook it up to the battery cables.

Having ATC(this is for the HVAC) has nothing to do with adding Heated seats, the seat heaters get their signal from the BCM(body control module), I'm sure that they can be wired to work from the PCM under the hood, not sure if anyone has tried this on their Trep..

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Never thought of a 18V tool battery, how did you hook it up? Crock clips from the seat cable to the battery terminals? I'll have to see what I can rig up!

As for the heating function, I assumed that the ATC is what controlled the seats climate functions. So adding heated seats and memory (which isn't as important) is a matter of obtaining the factory wiring or at least getting the pigtail (connectors) and wiring it up with a custom harness to the under dash BCM. Pretty simple, for some reason I assumed that it was more complex.

What exactly initiates the seats to heat up and not too - is it automatic?

Yes,aligator clips from the battery to the seat connector.Since I have never messed with heated seats you will have to figure out which wires are for the seat versus the heating part.On just a power seat there are only two wires so no worries. If you hook it up backwards it will just work in reverse.....forward will move back and so forth.

There's a switch on the outside side of the seat (next to the door, in other words). That's how you can tell if the car has heated seats or not.

So here's a question, since I'm doing the same project...can you just plug the connectors from the power heated seat harness into the BCM. I have an 01, have manual seats now, would those connectors be open on the BCM or will I need to splice in?
